Awesome catches 👏 do you guys perhaps know if the bass at rietvlei have finished spawn? Also do you know if topwater (poppers & spooks) could work for an early morning session...would be nice to get a few blow ups 😂🙌 thanks guys keep up the great content 👍

Hi Shakeel, yes we think they are done by now, should be anyway. On the topwater thing, we have never caught a bass on topwater or seen anyone catch them that way at Rietvlei. Having said that we also haven't really tried either 😀 Our friend Nadeem says he caught many on poppers so maybe try that 😎

@@Anglinks just more info on how slow and where is best. Using flukes and frog patterns like you said. I just dont know if im fishing correctly, slow enough or fast or bouncing it or letting it stay still. Its so close and accessible. Been looking for a spot that produces close by so we can go often and not blank more then catching?

Hi Michael, yeah the tide was out when we were there :-) And yes it's probably filling up already. We always find lost lures etc., but mostly it's snagged lines that we retrieve and go dump in the bins. So it's a good cleanup excercise...

Hi Arne, we have never seen kurper at Rietvlei unfortunately. Some people swear they are there but we have never caught one or seen anyone else catch one :-(

You mean at Rietvlei Dam? There is no bass side, the whole fishing area as you drive in has bass everywhere. It's just difficult to find a spot open over weekends when there are many carp anglers.

What lure are you guys using at Rietvlei? What will work the best for morning session?

Hi Cecil. We normally fish low and slow, so weightless junebug flukes or watermelon red worms \ senkos. But lots of other people have been having great success with normal spinners and jerkbaits. I would say early morning when the fish are active is jerkbait time...

Hi Wynand, we've been to Boskop a few times and had a lot of success, it's an awesome dam. But that's about it.. We'd like to visit Potch Dam, Klipdrift or Klerkskraal in the near future but we haven't been there yet...
