I gotta be honest here, the Merkava is one of the few MBT designs that I can actually respect since it doesn't give off a copy/paste vibe like other MBTs.

It is tho? Same Gun, Ammo, Wheels and tracks as the M1 Abrams series and Leopard 2a2 to 2a7. It’s not even that great, there’s photos of the front turret armor punched through by soviet RPG’s.

@@knucklesandwichdude133 it’s suspension is designed for the Golan heights, and every part besides the engine is engineered by Israeli companies. It has a 60mm mortar, protection against ammunition fire, a firing system that’s accurate enough to hit helicopters and of course, the trophy active protection system. While other countries bought trophy for their tanks only merkavas actively use it today, and it makes armor less important - and the armor on merkavas isn’t that bad either, it’s capable of stoping some modern atgms.

The shape of the motor and battery in this set is different from other sets. It looks like it was made to be assembled on a system brick rather than a technic brick. I also made a Sluban set, and the brick stability was good. I agree with the feel of Brickmeet.

Very much an improvement over previous releases. Could do without the stickers, but the shaping is great, and the RC functions decent for a smaller scale build. Needs stronger motors though.

This is a great lego set, but after getting mine, the motor is definitely a bit weak and struggles moving forward, however, it has no problem reversing for some reason. The tracks also snag a lot, especially when turning. This lego tank is definitely a hunky one too, it looks way bigger in real life, I don't know how your's looks so small, it is probably just the camera. Unfortunately, mine also came with an incorrect piece for the triangular turret cheek part, and I had to modify a brick to attach it, the weird hinge pieces that it uses both faced the same direction.. lol. I have the Sluban T-54 and Sluban Panzer II coming next.

I was looking at both the Sluban & Panlos MKIVs this past week on Aliexpress trying to figure out which one to get, this review came at just the right time! The turret on the Sluban looks the best between the two (not as good as my custom MKIV) but it's looks 1:35 scale and lacks proper detail around the hull. I also don't like the electronics hanging out the back which explains why they didn't show images of what the back looks like. The Panlos is the proper size for 1:28 scale and has all the detail I want but some of the colors just don't look good. I also wish it was tan like the Sluban. I don't care for the motorized function and I can replace some of the pieces I don't like the color of on the Panlos MK4 so I think that's the one I'll order! Thanks for the timely review!

Well, the Cobi version is the MK1 or MK2 The Sluban version is the MK4, different versions of the Merkava. But I agree, I like the turret more on the Sluban MK4.

Cobi could learn a thing or two from this model, i noticed there new sets lack hatches on the tanks,and the modern/cold war era plans looks good but dont have a lot of feature like retractable Landing gear.

Good design, but motor power is a bit weak. I wish to have a slightly powerful motor engine for this version. And somehow, chain tracks have stucked sometime :(
