Hi Liz. Thanks for the updates. Love seeing how they all are doing after the head chops. You are so blessed to get so many babies. Hope they will grow big and healthy for you to make more babies. 😊❤🥰 I'm still waiting for mine Romeo and Taurus to get much bigger before I even try to behead. 😊🥰❤
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
My Romeos and Taurus are almost 3 years old and they barely made it for the headchop. The more mature ones have a better chance of producing babies and saving the head also.

Hi Liz, love your videos! Can you give some guidance on when the right time for a head chop is? Thanks!
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
The best time to do a headchop is during the plants active growing season. You can do a headchop when they're dormant but will take longer to root up of grow. You'll also need to consider the species/variety of plant and the temperature where they're kept.
@rheicesar99953 жыл бұрын
I am curious about your set up in your indoor propagation area. While others are struggling with sunlight to make pretty succulent, in your set up it seems that some are in a darker part of the room and still manage to grow. Thanks!
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for bringing that up. NO PROMISES but I'll see if I can do a video.

So many new wonderful babies! You're getting me addicted to variegated succulents! I did notice that I have a completely white/yellow baby sedum clavatum growing. It has one tiny tiny Speck of green on it. And all the new growth is growing so dense I was wondering if I should keep it or snip it. With that Speck of green, do you think it will make it? I don't know anything about variegated plants really.......
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
Some variegated plants don't grow from a leaf. Worth leaving it on and see what happens as sometimes there's more likelihood it will revert back to non variegated.
@janetac17383 жыл бұрын
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK this one's not from a leaf it's new growth from beheadings I did on a big pot that I have full of them. But all the new growth is just growing so dense. I think I'm going to leave it anyway it's actually quite stunning it's a double head too so if it makes it it makes it if it doesn't then oh well LOL it'll be my first variegated! And if it does make it to a substantial size then once the ones around it get big enough I'll trim around it to give it more room

@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
Start with the sticky ribbon. They work really well. Took a few months but I'm now gnat free outside. I only have gnats inside because I keep bringing in new plants and soil with gnats. But even inside, there's only a few of them and they're getting smaller in size.

Great video, I would like to ask how the leaves have roots and babies ? do you put them on soil? or not? thank you for sharing
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
No soil or water on the leaves. Just put them on tissue. The tissue absorbs any moisture that will develop from air humidity. You have to leave it on that tissue paper until the roots and pups come out. Once roots are showing, I put it on coco peat to encourage them to grow faster and when big enough, transplant to proper soil.

Hey Liz. Watch your videos religiously and learning as I go around acquiring more succulents to grow :) can you tell me whether I need to put the entire plant that I behead in the shade and away from direct sun? Can I leave the potted stump in the sun?

Never in direct sunlight. Always in a bright spot but no direct sunlight. Good luck! Hope it puts out lots of babies for you.

@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
@aholiviasmith84283 жыл бұрын
oh Lovely Rose....last time I commented "good timing I just got this" or something like that but it has been already dead :/ All I did was planted it, waited until leaves were winkled and gave a deep water. In deed, I lost quite a few following the same protocol. Deep watering may not be so good for those that are highly stressed from transport, new environment & soil?
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
Deep watering is only good for plants with roots. "DEPENDING" on the plant species/variety, newly bought plants with dried up roots are best planted in moist(not wet) soil to encourage rooting; Or first soak in seaweed solution(tonic for stress) to encourage root growth.
