WTD Top Water Lure Making - part 2

Second part of lure making tutorial includes finishing of the WTD lure blank with my special coating of glass shards. After that I apply epoxy resin, paste the aluminium face and 3D handmade lure eyes 👁️
The swim test of course is included at the end of the video 😉

That's a pity loosing it to a tree branch, such a beautiful lure, the zig zag movement was awesome. At least we have the video. Last night I was wondering how crushed up Christmas tree balls would work lol, there's some great colours and they're cheap. My dad used to use tinsel for his mackerel lures and they worked great, different colours on each hook and each trace had six hooks, that was for sea boat fishing.

I never caught mackerel 🙂 yeah I was so pissed that day, on top of it what I assessed as chub river from Google maps turned out to be trout river so there was no point to even take the lure with me 😕 I guess finely crushed Christmas balls would work similar way, although it would be way more difficult to sand it smooth, and big probability of cut fingers on the way 😅

@@SuchaJerkCustomLures I've caught seven Mackerel on six hooks lol. A really small/young mackerel took the hook while a large mackerel took that 😆 I've filled six hooks on a trace many times because when you hit a shoal it's mayhem. I came First in a mackerel fishing contest ten years ago and won a nice Pen deep sea real and rod. It was hard work pulling them in almost constantly. I like mackerel so I took quite a few home plus I use them for Pike fishing, the rest went to the harbour master for his lobster pots as he had many for extra income, no mackerel were wasted. Plenty of folk caught none or just a few but that's how it goes. Mackerel are energetic little fighters with a strong taste plus very oily, Nice though.

@@pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN yeah nothing beats smoked mackerel and boiled egg paste for the sandwich 🥪 I've heard they are strong fighters, I would fish for them with micro jig on UL setup 😋

In this case I didn't use glue it was poliurethane varnish that was going off it's called Hartz Lack. In US the equivalent would be KBS diamond clear, but 5min epoxy will do the trick as well 👌

I was so pissed about it, the issue was it went on the branch over the fast deep water 😵‍💫 I tried to grab it somehow from the kayak, but there was no way to stay in the spot, the current was too strong 😢

@@SuchaJerkCustomLures In my opinion, the color of the eyes should be contrasting with the body. That's my idea. The color does not matter. example the blue fish has yellow ones. Good luck
