Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper are completely different beyond the fact they are both platformer games. Same with infamous and uncharted beyond being action games.... Infamous is open world and uncharted is very very linear and limited in that aspect. All the games are amazing though. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Please make more, Sly cooper is my favorite game series! even though I wasn't born when the first one came out in 2002. Plus when Sly 3 came out I was like two. Sly 1 was the first ever game I got! I have all 4 and completed all of them! Nobody really knows how much i love this series. I love it a little more then i love myself. So please, Sanzaru and Sucker Punch. If you have no ideas just make one pretty cheesy. I don't think any of the fans would mind. Something like Sly has to go to the future and save his kids from the Fiendish Five's children ( but their children are grownups.) Even though Clockwork is gone and the Panda King is nice and has a daughter, how about the panda king has another one. Neila should pretend she was dead even though she was actually alive and she gets new materials to make Clocker. The Sly in the future went some where before all this happened. But they weren't able to contact him cause' he went to a place with no contact service. (Not cell service.) So the gang has to go to future. ( Sly's has six kids and their ages are all 11.) Their should be a feature when on the get away you can choose to drive the car away or to let Murray do it. Sly will always be a part of my childhood and I think many others can agree. At this stage of my life though I wouldn't be totally disappointed if Sucker Punch never came back to Sly. People have to move on sometime and in this case the memories are what's important. Whatever project they continue with I'll stand behind because they always do a good job.

It's really great to see them mention their very first title from before they became a more commonly known developer. I'm a huge fan of Insomniac Games and it's kind of disappointing that they just NEVER talk about Disruptor. The only real examples I can think of is Ted Price's appearance on Devs Play and a small nod to it in Ratchet & Clank 2.

Naughty Dog is doing better for itself now than it did with Jak and Daxter, at the very least. Probably better than they were doing with Crash too, at least in terms of sales. If you talk to people about Naughty Dog, chances are they're going to think of Uncharted and of The Last of Us and I don't think that's underserved at all. While I feel pretty lukewarm about Uncharted 1 and 3, Uncharted 2 and 4 and The Last of Us are fantastic experiences that I feel very much deserve the praise that they receive.

And how exactly is Sly more ambitious than Infamous? I love both series, but Sly didn't bring anything new gameplay wise. It was a really cool mix of platform and stealth, but that's that. Infamous gameplay is kinda similar, but with superpowers and the best aiming mechanics on a open world game. I like to think of Infamous as Sly on a broader scale.

So they left the Sly series because they got tired of it and to work on a new IP, which was Infamous. They then worked on a shit load of Infamous games, not getting tired of the series at all, and have nothing to do with Sly anymore. Fffffffantastic.

While I admire their kindness towards Sanzaru, sadly, their faith was misplaced. Sly 4 was a piece of flaming garbage compared the the original Sly trilogy. Sly 4's gameplay was OK, but the writing and dialogue was just atrocious and it completely shit all over the happy endings the characters got in Sly 3 (primarily, Sly and Bentley's). Sucker Punch was smart to end the Sly series when they did. And I personally wouldn't want to see a new Sly game made unless it was a total reboot

, sly 3 was made in around 11 months, infamous first light was 7 months. Like uncharted 1 called “drake’s fortune” because Amy wasn’t sure if they’d continue drake or go to a new character, a big text of “second son” was present because sucker punch is unfortunately done with cole :( for now :)

infamous games were a huge step back from the sly trilogy. they really just couldn't nail down a good storyline. the gameplay was OK. i especially liked all the random sly callbacks and random easter eggs. ghost of tsushima seems like it is pretty good, not into souls(like) games personally. but one day i will give it a shot. they really should go back to sly at this point, its time. though i have no idea who is with the studio these days so who knows if they could even make a decent sly game now.

Sly was by far their least successful series and they're currently using all their resources for a Tsushima sequel which sold over 10 million btw. Also it seems like you missed the news but over a year ago SP pretty much said Sly and inFamous are dead IP.

@@TerrorOfTalos yea i know tsushima sold well, not hating on it just personally don't like souls-like games. also i thought that was just a free to play multiplayer game they are making though not a sequel?.. and yes i saw that SP said they have no plans to work on sly or infamous in the future. my point was sly as a series is a cult classic. its not a massive mainstream fanbase, of course.. irdk was infamous more popular than sly? personally i doubt it, and almost nobody "fondly" remembers the story and characters from infamous.. sly 1 made 21mil, can't really find numbers for 2 or 3 and infamous 1 says about the same at 21-22mil. honestly infamous appeals to a much wider range of an audience than sly could. platformers are almost dead and mascots were on life support even when sly originally came out. like i said though, its been what 20 years? i doubt many people who worked on sly 1-3 are even still with SP at this point, after sly 4 i would be cautious of who i gave the ip to as well, so who knows. anyway, that's a long enough comment lol hope you're having a good day bro.

@@bosscomplex Nope the multiplayer component came as a free update for the game and only released a few months after. Well how much money a game makes doesn't quite represent popularity; which is why I always go with sales numbers. Second son sold the most out of all infamous games at 6 million (by 2019) however inFamous 1 alone sold close to 2 million in about a year after release. For comparison Sly 1-3 sold 2.2m combined in the US by July 2006, so while you can say Sly has more fondly remembered characters in retrospect inFamous by all counts was a relatively bigger hit; just not by a *huge* amount. This is true and what also really helped second son during the early PS4 era to be successful. The most important minds such as Nate Fox and Brian Fleming are still there at least but yes notable programmers, game designers and artists from that era did leave over time. Yeah honestly for Sly I'd just take a great polished remaster of the trilogy with enhanced audio and resolution with all the bonuses added for $40, Sanzaru has completely gone to Facebook VR mines and SP has no interest which means Sony has no reason to pursue because Sly as a franchise has never sold great. @@TerrorOfTalos the point I was trying to make was that sly 1 being a game with almost no media push like commercials still sold what 800k copies on ps2? that's pretty impressive for a new Ip, especially back then. at least where I was from nobody knew what sly was when it came out, the original cover was easily brushed over too tbh. it was the greatest hits version that made me give it a shot, that might be just me though. gaming was way more mainstream when ps4 came out infamous second son came out close to launch too as honestly one of the best ps4 exclusives overall. meanwhile sly 2&3 came out very close to next gen. I think 3 came out 1 month before the Xbox 360. obviously infamous overall sold more than sly there's no disputing that, but like I said nobody really remembers Cole or Delsin, they don't really have long-term appeal. while objectively sly had pretty good characters with defined personalities that people to this day still talk about. they, if done right, could definitely do the sly tv series and successfully bring the characters to a new generation. personally, though i agree with you at this point i really just want the trilogy and even 4 with graphical modern enhancements or at least made accessible on modern platforms, it was on psnow but I think it got removed? sanzaru did an ok job on the trilogy port, and 4 was not horrible but easily the worst in the series and now we are stuck story-wise on that cliffhanger lol. they didn't really leave the franchise in the best spot and that's partly on Sony too. who knows maybe someday sucker punch will go back to the series or give someone else a shot at it, it's really about all we can hope for. same with infamous, I wouldn't mind a sequel, they definitely set up a potential sequel(s) story wise.
