I use a cheap serrated knife from Walmart, I have divided potted plants, cut euphorbia's, cut string, open bags. Sometimes its the only thing I can put my hands on😂

I checked your amazon store and your supplies list, and I can't find any rooting hormone you use, is it possibly the biofungicide? Thanks so much! 😊

Hey! I have the smallest cutting of this, like an inch from the top that had broke off from my friends cactus and I’m worried it’s not going to survive, I let it callus before I put it on a draining mix, and it’s been 2-3 weeks and I gave it the tiniest bit of water bc the “boobis” are shriveling at the bottom, what should I do? Should I refrain from watering it for longer? I have it in a indirect bright light, it’s not too hot in my plant room either 😢

Hola! So it's not going to put down roots and continue growing as a normal cactus form. It could put out some offsets from the areoles where it's cut. For now I would try to get some roots on it. Give it some heat outside and bright light - no direct sun because it could burn or struggle in the heat. I don't think it will grow fast enough to survive without natural light. Water enough to just moisten the top inch or so of potting mix. It will wick down and hopefully tease out some roots in a few weeks...

Is there an update video on these please???

Nothing to report yet 😅 I haven't checked for roots bc I don't want to disturb them.

@@SucsForYou Great video I'm not sure if I've went full gung hu I reported straight to soil and grit 50/50 mix

You think santoku was the proper choice? 😂 love it! great video. I just got my boobie cactus in the mail bare root last week. Already have propagation day dreams though. My bone euphorbia is going wild right now though so nothing can "over moisten my substrate" right now. If you know what I mean 😂 best of luck and fingers crossed for lots of boobies in both our futures! 🎉

You should probably use Loppers made for cutting branches off trees, which make use of leverage, like bolt cutters. I like the one that has a rope where you expand the handles wider their your arm width and make use of pulling the handle within reach with the rope.

You could also try a hacksaw made for cutting metal pipe, that has small teeth. Normally using a hacksaw on wood is a tremendous amount of work, which is why wood saws have large teeth, but a hacksaw could even just give you a start on a cut, if you wanted and may be cheaper than loppers. For sure a hacksaw would take up less space. Technically you don't need a frame and can use just the hacksaw blade, but you won't get as good of leverage and you are more likely to cut yourself or bend the blade, especially if it bites in (gets stuck).

Thank you! I only have one other plant, a caudex Pseudobombax ellipticum, that I've been thinking about 'hard pruning' - it's going to be lot tougher than this cacti so I'd definitely opted for the frame if I went the hacksaw route 🪚🙏

You need a blade with teeth or serrated. I know from experience when I'm out on the field poaching.

I know you are joking

If you use controversial methods, and also propagate a difficult cultivar, you really should have the patience to wait for results before you publish the video. This is not really helpful, since we have no idea if it worked.
@SucsForYou29 күн бұрын
Hi friend, this is a very common way to propagate this cactus. In the first minute of the video you can see where I've done it before, dated progress photos, and that it was successful. Not a difficult grower.
