What a great cover! The opening and closing pad on the original haunted me ever since it came out. It just didn't sound like a regular synth. I just found out from the guy who did it (Michael Boddicker) that he used a Roland VC-330 run through a Roland Space Echo and some other filters.

Thank you so much for sharing your interesting comment! Yes, that sound definitely had an eerie, dreamlike quality to it. I often say that the recording technology that we have today is truly awesome, but the engineers, producers, and musicians of the 60s, 70s, and 80s were the real pioneers.

Thank you! Good question. This was one song I did without a click track. About half of the other songs I did with a click track, especially multitrack performances like "Yah Mo B There."
