What a lovely puzzle, I like it very much, these are my favorite constraints, and I like the first 3 rows rules!! Thanks 😊

Nice one - solved in 21:02. It all depends on spotting the logic to fill rows 2 and 3 with pairs of numbers, then using the constraints those pairs create to fill in numbers in the middle rows, much like a miracle sudoku. Once I realised that the whole puzzle was going to rope, it was simply a matter of filling in the triples in each box and then eliminating possibilities.

I loaded this bad boy on the Interactive Sudoku Solver, which then solved it uniquely without the "extra regions", just the anti-knight and anti-king rules -- that given 3 below row 1 _was_ the key.

I love the concept that a puzzle rewards you immediately after spotting the right logic, and this is a perfect example of that. A really enjoyable puzzle, smooth and fun!

I totally got lost on the first attempt of this puzzle, so stepped away and came back to try again; that 3 in box 7 was what I realized was missing. 😄 Completed in 7:18 on the second attempt, really amazing puzzle! Props to damasososos92 for it, and very nice solve by BremSter!

the trick to the extra regions rule is that as you shift the boxes over, you are taking out one column of 3 digits and adding a column of 3 digits...which have to be the same digits to complete the set. vertical roping

As often with anti knight puzzles, it's way faster to figure out *per box* where a certain digit can be (corner pencilmarking). After filling the top 3 rows, concentrate on placing the 3s. This easily places 7 out of 9 3s, plus reveals some 1s and 7s. Placing the rest of the 7s and 1s and the last 2 3s is easy. By then, the rest of the puzzle is a piece of cake.

Neat puzzle. Not particularly challenging once you've figured it out, so I'd definitely suggest everyone gives it a go.

21:09 for me but had to watch about 15 mins of video before I got the concept. After that it fell nicely. Fun puzzle and interesting constraint. Wonder what else you could do with it. Informative solve.

Oops the solution is WRONG. Look at the 1 in row2, column2 and box 1. It is the upper left corner of a 3 by 3 box that has also a 1 in the lowerright corner. So that 3x3box breaks the rules. In fact there is no solution that satisfies the rules.
@debrawilden197110 ай бұрын
The rules say that every 3x3 box section applies only to the 1st 3 rows, not the whole grid. Hope that helps.

something wrong with the wording of the rules "fill the top three rows" IMPLIES "ignore the other cells"
@listey11 ай бұрын
Surely superseded by "Normal Sudoku rules apply"?
@sotek278411 ай бұрын
Yes, for the purpose of "every possible 3x3 box" ignore the other cells. But not for normal sudoku rules, or for antiking/antiknight. seems straightforward enough? (I would have phrased it as "every possible 3x3 box in the top three rows" myself but ... this seems pretty unambiguous.)
@mbakenemdusink975711 ай бұрын
Yes, I also had difficulties understanding what was meant. An example could have helped. Like "the 9 cells in row 123, col 234 contain the digits 1-9 once each".

Totally missed the roping nature of the puzzle.

To be fair so did I when I solved it. Somethings are easier to spot when you are watching someone else on a video.
