The little house at 511 is a brilliant idea. It's a simple image but very powerful. That image hasa lot of impact for its simplicity. Truly fine art. Thanks

I am from Shetland and have still to visit Faroe. Your travel logs are brilliant and can hope soon I will visit. Only a few hours south we miss our ferry connection with Shetland to Faroe, Iceland and Norway. 1982 to 2007 Smyril Line.

Hi Mads. What a wonderful location. Suduroy looks a great place to visit but I'm not sure I could handle the boat trip ! Your images are outstanding and make me want to go there straight away !! Its nice to hear a thick Danish Accent (Danglish) :-) Suðuroy is know to having a different dialect then the main islands. Its always know as little Denmark. Nice to Akraberg, Vágseiði and Ásmundarstak (cant remmber seen it my self). Next time, if ever then take a trip to Fámjin where Merkið is found in the local church :-) Hvalbiareiði or Vágseiði is a must in when there is strong winds. You will really appreciate the hard work global mariners do at sea, when you seen the waves and wind take a beating against the rocks :-) If you would like to get a grasp of what the Fellowship of the Ring experienced in the narrowed tunnels in Morria, as for a trip in the coal mines in Hvalba :-) Dont enter if you are claustrophobic :-) And when the sun is shining, take a trip up to Stórhamar plateau and Ørna fjall, walk west to the highest mountain in Suðuroy (cant remmber the name). Another trip is to Hvannhaga. Remmber to take pancakes, or waffles, coffee, the and ofcourse Nutella on every trip. And if you are lucky some skerpikød and local made ryebread:-) I got that tip from some locals :-) I am so much looking forward to it :-)

I know I have said this before Mads that the enormity of these locations is really emphasised when the human element is seen in the images. When the camera is looking along or over the cliffs, I guess you must have a good head for heights. Beautiful images and a pleasure as always to watch your vlogs
@MadsPeterIversen5 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, Jim! Yeah, heights don't bother me too much anymore. You kinda get used to it... and that's when it gets dangerous :P

I would like an episode that is sort of a guide to how to organize a trip to the Faroe islands on your own. Recommendations about where to stay, how to divide the time between islands. Going over things to think about, potential pitfalls. What gear to bring, both photography and other. Restrictions, what not to do? When to go and why?
@MadsPeterIversen5 жыл бұрын
I might do a Q&A video on the Faroes and include your questions :)

Mads, really want to be there with you to explore Faroes. The video is very amazing. Sometimes, I am curious about how to determine the right exposure setting since high contrast during sunrise or sunset. I have learnt from a teacher that bracketing for five shots and select the most appropriate one in editing or just doing HDR to have the optimal result.
@MadsPeterIversen5 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's basically what I do :)

Hi Mads, Another enjoyable video and beautiful photos. Some ideas for your consideration: 1. black and white treatment when colours mostly the same, 2. Placing people in the frame unnecessary when the foreground has elements that enable us to judge the scale such as blades of grass or rocks, 3. People in frame can interfere with the flow of the eye around the geometric patterns formed by the landscape. That's my comment, not meant as a criticism. Kevin
@MadsPeterIversen5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, I generally do not like black and white. To me, it's a gimmick that cheapens a photo unless you specifically shoot for the black and white photo. I don't think the foreground helps to show scale in the photo with the person. Quite the contrary, I think the wide angle effect of the foreground distorts the impression of just how huge the background is. That being said, that specific photo could work without a person in there because of the strong geometric composition :)
