Perfect storm of CC haters and old guard cronyism led to a player (DT) that is no longer even "good" getting placed on the team. Sad. At this point, Breanna Stewart is still an elite player, hopefully in four more years she is still playing at a high level when the debate starts about whether to give her a chance at the 6th gold.

dear Sue if all players play up to the 40s what chance do the rookies have to reach even 2 olympics ?? none.....so if D has 6 and you have 5 what's the difference ??just a medal.....the point is to give the chance in every selection to at least 1 rookie....because we will reach to the point that many players will not accept invitations for the US team because they have to wait for the seniors to retire at their 40s.....

You didn’t ask Bird about her and Taurasi trashing Caitlin when she was entering the WNBA. And CC may trash talk on the floor but she doesn’t do that off the Court like Reese does. U didn’t talk about why Taurasi didn’t earn her spot on this Olympic Team. Why was she picked? For a Gold Medal ,6? And Bird did not give kudos to CC for bringing fans to the WNBA? Where is her gratitude, cuz the WNBA was tottering before Caitlin.

NONE of you have ever played like that before. She is fun to watch, you never were and still are not. How many people are going back and looking up old WNBA games to watch any "founders"? Just be happy for the women going forward who will start to play more like Clark in the future. Be happy you may get some interviews to talk about old times. If Clark quit playing tomorrow 80 - 90 % of the new fans will melt away.

Caitlin will be 42 years old in her 5th Olympics. So she probably won't even get to compete for 6. So the committee has guaranteed that DT's record is safe. Do you know why? Because DT was chosen when she had just graduated from college, so she had a 4 year jump on CC for Olympics. Plus DT's 6th this year was basically a participation trophy. She was benched for the last game and scored zero for at least one game when she did play.

Angel Reese is just riding on the coattails of Caitlin Clark's popularity. I don't know why these people in the WNBA and its media could not accept what the reality is - Caitlin Clark, and her alone, is the one moving the needle in the WNBA. Jealousy? Envy? Insecurity? ESPN, Fox Sports, and other media platforms conveniently refuse to cover the game that was on June 2, 2024, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever lost to the New York Liberty 104 points to 68 points in front of 17,401 fans at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The Liberty beat Caitlin Clark & the Fever by 36 points. Caitlin Clark scored 3 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, she shot 10% from the field as she shot 1 for 10, she shot 15% from the 3-point arc as she shot 1 for 7 with the 3-ball, and she had 3 turnovers. Before this game, Caitlin Clark was averaging 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists on 38% from the field, 31% from the 3-point arc, and 90% from the free-throw. Caitlin Clark is also averaging 5.7 TURNOVERS per game So Caitlin Clark is shooting freethrows like Steph Curry, but it doesn’t look like she’s a long-range 3-point sniper like “the babyface assassin”. 🏀🏀🏀🔥🏀🏀🏀

No one is talking about it because it is one game of many. You are so clean with that box score. Did you even watch the game? Sometimes in sports players with great expectations get hype before they produce the results. That doesn't mean they won't produce the results. Peyton Manning, LeBron James,, and many others got the hype before eventually turning into the thing everyone predicted they would be. Caitlin still has a lot to learn but she is mixing great performances with average ones and even some bad ones just like any other rookie would. James Harden and Russel Westbrook averaged over 4 turnovers a game in seasons where they were MVP candidates. When you have the ball as much as Caitlin has the ball, turnovers are inevitable whether they are her fault or the fault of teammates. More opportunities equals more chances to mess up. I am just guessing but Caitlin probably has the highest usage rate in the whole WNBA.
