This episode had some of the most brilliant scenes and writing I have ever seen. Linda Gray is such an underrated actress who has not been given the credit she deserves, I've always loved her. She and Larry Hagman had been best friends for 35 years from the early 'Dallas' days and for her to do this scene and the actual emotions she must have been feeling to do it, really impressive!

I'm 39 and was a loyal watcher of the first Dallas. I remember when I was 6 years old back in 1980 and the "Who shot J.R." drama! I was astute to it back then and still am now. I love the new Dallas. RIP Larry Hagman though. I love it and it really does remind me of the old days too. My favorite character has always been Sue Ellen, since Christopher and that beautiful Dusty. She is a genius actress, Linda Grey is and watching her is such a pleasure to this day. Thank you!

Once an alcoholic, always one. It never really goes away. In a way, the same with JR. He was always there, no matter how many times she divorced him and left him. Even when she did supposedly for good, the door was always there for her to return, he was always lingering in the back of her mind, that if she ever get into trouble, he will get her off. Now that door is finally shut she is now really at a loss of what to do. She is TRULY on her own now.

My favorite Sue Ellen moment was when she told JR she was going to be the perfect mother and wife, but only for "public consumption". I was in high school when that aired. That phrase "public consumption" is so fitting for so many people. I love Linda Grey.

Linda Grey and Larry Hagman TV's soulmates and real life friends. I hope the CW or any other TV network doesn't decide to remake Dallas with new cast. My favorite scene of Linda playing Sue Ellen as a fun drunk was in the Braddock Bar when Ray & Bobby had to rescue her. I used to get upset with J.R's character as to why he wouldn't help her when she was drunk. (Dusty helped her & loved her through it.) But then I realized as time went on, it bothered J.R. tremendously to see her this way. Some men don't know what to do. Why Bobby, Pam & Ray saved her hide many times. I was like..nooo...don't do it Sue Ellen in the reboot.
@MsTexas7321 күн бұрын
That scene in the Braddock Bar in Wheeler Dealer is one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE DALLAS moments. Nobody ever talks about that so I am glad to see someone else mention it. That was a great scene. The bartender really saved her hide. He is the real hero. I do laugh when Sue Ellen goes to beat up on Bobby with her purse though. 🤣

That's how it works, yes. The first swig is potentially horrible. Then you make yourself take another one. Then you remember with the third one how much fun it was. Then you keep going and going, the way the clips of her pouring are sewn together. By then, the buzz is on the way and why not finish what's in front of her? There is tomorrow night too, etc.

Excellent, subtle performance by Linda. You can totally see Sue Ellen's pain, anguish, and regret as she takes that first sip. Her mind was telling her no, but her heart said yes. And now it will be back to step one for her with sobriety. She is INDEED OFF THE WAGON. ONE SIP IS ALL IT TAKES. There is no gray area with alcoholism and sobriety.

Season 2 had meh ratings, but some of the best acting after JR died. You really felt the pain of the characters and that had something to do with the iconic show it is. I hope people tune into Season 3 and see the upcoming brilliance of John Ross becoming JR, Sue Ellen back a drunk, and Bobby trying to keep Christopher in moral check. I hope we see more Gary/Valene/Ray they need a couple more older characters
