This is a rare video of Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras (along with Zubin Mehta), singing "Marechiare", when they were getting ready for the Caracalla concert, they are amazing!!!!

This one video alone disproves the media's claim that the The Three Tenors are adversarial to one another. Of course they compete with each other because they are passionate artists who wants to give their best in every performance they do but deep inside they respect each other and they are very good friends. Those funny moments, those smiles and jokes and the humility to listen to each other will not be effective if the three tenors didn't have well-established friendship previously before the great concert in Caracalla.

It is good you like him so much.But for me there are many tenors who were and are as good and that takes nothing away from Pavarotti who was amazing. The big man himself thought that Bjorling was the greatest ever and De Stefano was an inspiration, He called Carreras the last great Tenor to be born in the 20 century, when Carreras was so very sick and looking like he'd die Pavarotti told him he had to fight and get better because if he didn't he'd have no competition. He had a Rivalry with Domingo through out their careers with each having a valid claim to be the number one of their time. Prior to his illness the three of them were in equal demand around the world and that is why for me their is no number one they are all brilliant
