Since a major bike bonk a couple years back I've taken nutrition more seriously. After finishing a 100k ride, I couldn't get comfortable when i stood, sat or layed no matter how much cola or choc I smashed post ride. Dead set, definition of bonking on a ride is being willing to part with 500 bucks for a Coke/Mars bar with 20k to go. I now plan pre/post food and fuel on bike in a structured way. That aside mate, break glass Jelly's and 4x jam on toast is extreme. What do they say, Positive Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance 😎
