Sugar has become the number one enemy of overweight and its role in the development of cancer cells is now confirmed. So everyone seeks to consume sugar in a "healthy" way, by looking for alternatives to sugar: agave syrup, maple syrup, honey, but also of course brown sugar, muscovado, rapadura... Today I explains the difference between brown sugar, refined white sugar, agave syrup, maple syrup and honey. And stevia mixed with brown sugar, are we talking about it? :)
Remember that the daily sugar intake must represent 40 to 55% of calories (kcal) in the form of carbohydrates (against 50 to 55% previously), that is to say mainly cereals, starches and partly fruit and vegetables, simple sugars being marginalized.
The World Health Organization recommends reducing the intake of free sugars to less than 10% of the total energy intake in adults and children.
