@@daleburrell6273 I've got three now, I lost one at the beginning of covid back in March '20, he was my late brother's cat really, but spent as much time with me as he did my brother. I was devastated when I had to have him put down at the age of 18, almost a year to the day after loosing my brother.we still had our two which we got six months after loosing my brother. But in the beginning of May a friend of my wife's who rescues cats for a living was going to the states the following day and could not find a home for one last cat before her trip. She asked if we could take this 4 month old kitten for the duration of her stay in America and my wife said yes without consulting me! Well I almost went mad at her until I saw this so beautiful tabby, almost Tiger like kitten and I fell in love with her, and.......... yes we've still got the little Madam. From the start she started to chase our other two who are fully grown 5 year olds and still now she jumps on them and attacks them! But she's so loving to me and just gets up on my chest to go the sleep as much as ten times a day! But loosing my brothers cat Tom ( yes imaginative wasn't it , him being black with white chest, sox and whiskers lol ) Tom was my last link to my brother who I nursed for 4 long years after his fourth major bowel cancer surgery. Loosing Tom at 11pm on a cold windy March night at the PDSA with just me and the vet in attendance was heartbreaking. And our male cat Pops is the image of Tom and sometimes I call Pops Tom lol( Pops is named because the female cat we got the day before Pops is black as the night and my wife called her Coco so he had to be Pops didn't he?) the little on? Her name is Kelly Kellogg lol. Sorry to be so long winded but I got a bit emotional there

Sorry about Buddy going away. I know your grief. We lost 7 dogs in the last 40 years and the sorrow is still there because they were wonderful dogs and always at our side.

Losing a pet, especially a revered and faithful companion such as Elliott is very difficult. When I have lost a pet (and am about to lose another, who has only been with us a short time), I try to take comfort in the fact that I went the extra mile to ensure he was well cared for, protected and lived a better life with us than otherwise. (Most of our pets were rescues). It's a small comfort, I know, but the love and affection we shared outweighs the sorrow of the loss. I try to remember that, but it is still difficult. Be of good cheer, my friend!

Sorry for your loss Keith and family. I lost my senior pooch and best friend six months ago due to extreme old age. I didn't grieve too badly, as I'd had so long to get used to the fact the end was coming, but after 20 years the sofa looks very empty without her. There's a big Saluki sized hole in my life that I will never fill and wouldn't want to. I love all my dogs but she was one of the truly special ones. Rest In Peace Elliot.

Sorry for your loss. I know what you're going through. This past year I lost two old dogs. My grand daughter was very attached to them and has their urns on her dresser. She actually shared a birthday with one of them. I swore no more dogs, but that didn't last long.

Poor Ellioth. I have lost a cat two weeks ago. It was not really a my cat, it was semi-wild huge an brave cat, who lived in the forest near my house at summers and goes to the human living at winters. I have feed him and built a cathouse, where he spent coldest periods. One time he becomes very sick and I have bring him to a veterinary clinic, but his heart was stopped soon after we are arrived. Well, we are all mortal. He had a good and brave life in a wild. I hope, Ellioth was also happy to be a your dog. RIP.
