The covered front on the silent runner is actually so they dont get thrown out of the wheel if there is any over spin. And u should always use the cage attachment. Not the stand! The stand is the worst! Cage attachment is amazing. Never gets lose with lock washer

Oh and they make 3 tracks for the wheel. Self cleaning track. Sandy track 2 trim nails and it works great! And the regular running track. All 3 work great. I think its easy 2 clean. Just take bearings out n throw it in the tub n scrub. Not hard at all. Its literally only 3 pieces. Not including the 2 bearings. 1 wheel. And it's good 4 exercise. Trimming nails easily. N self clean track. Wich gives you an extra few days then usual b4 u have 2 clean it. Just giving this info for any1 considering. Had it for 2 years. And no harm 2 gliders. N no malfunctions of the wheel. Just never clean the wheel with the bearings in the wheel! They will get rusted and may not be able to lube them back 2 life lmao. Hope this helps any1 wondering more about it.

.. I have had gliders for almost 2 decades now so let me try to put this into MY perspective on the idea of glider “safe” wheels. Early 2000’s, the only recommended sugar glider wheel at that time was the wodent wheel so most of us used it. Obviously, there was no such thing as a wheel made for gliders back then because very few people had them as pets, much less people even knew about them. Hmm.. So many choices, huh? We all know where the “safe” Wodent wheel stands today.,. :-/.. Personally, I never had a issue, but I won’t disregard the deaths and injuries that did happen. A few years later comes the Stealth, Silent Runner and Custom Cruiser.. Those were considered “glider safe” too, but considering the problems with Stealth and Silent Runner, makes you wonder too, doesn’t it? Even though Custom Cruiser hasn’t had any glider injuries that I’ve heard of to date, my point is that I truly believe NO WHEEL (or item) is glider safe so please keep that in mind. I’ve had 3 senior gliders over the years and I can see where even THIS wheel or any of the other “approved” wheels for that matter could easily cause harm to them.

^^^ agree with everything said I think bourbon also made an interesting post about the wodent wheel along the same lines. Very good points made! And very cool you’ve had gliders basically longer than I’ve been alive haha. If there’s any info I get wrong, pls feel free to correct me:)

@@mypawfectfamily .. I bet she did! Lol.. Like I said, there wasn't many glider owners back then so pretty much everything was experimental and when you really get down to it, technically still is. There is still SO much we don't know about these little guys even 30 years later. ... That makes me sound old! Lol.. I'm only in my early 30's so I've had them about half of my life if that makes you feel any better. ;-) No offense but I can be a real critic when it comes to these little guys.. You may regret that.. They stole my heart the very moment I saw them in high school and can't imagine my life without them now. I have advised a couple of other people but I don't know if it maked an impact. It is hard for people to admit they maybe wrong (misguided). I try not to come off as a know-it-all but instead as a passionate person that wants to help. I see everyone making the same mistakes and decisions I did years ago and struggling. I just hate to see that, more for the little guys though.

Thanks for this video it was quite descriptive. One of my Freedom Wheels broke, inner circle broke clean off after washing and doing a stress spinning test with it. After putting my order in for a Custom Cruiser Wheel I was starting to have concerns for how safe it really is and the issue of not being able to find many vids of owners experiences with this particular bouncy style. I hope my gliders like it as much as yours do. l I'll be back to leave an update.

Tammy M Yay I’m excited! I’m sure your gliders will love custom cruisers! I’m sorry to your freedom wheel broke, but at least it didn’t break while the gliders were using it:)

My slient runner was attached too its cage. And fell off luckly it missed my glider Boba when Yoda was in it.
@michellemeyer51263 жыл бұрын
If it is attached too the cage it is safer ? Because it doesn’t have the space between the wheel and the support ? I have a silent runner wheel and I think my glider loves it , however I just have one and she has never get stocked on it , I’m pleasing to get a new glider next month and I’m worry about one of them getting stuck on that part , now I know that if I buy the attachment for the cage I have to cheek it often so it won’t fell off, but does the attachment makes it safer ? I mean , does the space gets really reduce so gliders can’t get stuck in between ?
@keithkeef66353 жыл бұрын
@@michellemeyer5126 the cage attachment works great. Mine dosen't loosen up at all now. Make sure the bearings in your rubber wheel are still moving and not gooked up. Make sure you use the lock washer it comes with the attachment. Mine has never got lose after that. Besides 1 time. But that was after 2 months of running. With 3 gliders. U should be fine! It works lol. Some people install the attachment wrong.

Very informative! Could you do a video about first-time rabbit owners? Could you include things about which places are the best to get rabbits.
@mypawfectfamily4 жыл бұрын
Sure that would be cool! I have an older rabbit expectations vs reality and a secrets of owning rabbits. I think those are good places to start for new owners, but I can definitely make an updated one!

Hey im trying to get a raptor wheel and baby raptor wheel, but due to covid it take 10 to 12 weeks for shipping and processing. I have a silent wheel from exotic nutrition right now, I am thinking of leaving it in the cage till I get the raptors. Is this ok?
@mypawfectfamily4 жыл бұрын
I can’t really say 😬 I used the EN without issues, but many people have said it caused the death of their glider. I guess it’s up to you:) Personally though, I wouldn’t take the risk since wheels are not a necessity. I think they’ll be fine for a bit without a wheel:)
@captaingeneric85304 жыл бұрын
@@mypawfectfamily Yeah, idk I used it for 9 months without a problem so far. Only now realizing the issues. I think they should be fine for a few more weeks.

@@captaingeneric8530 I have used my Silent Wheel for about 2 years and I’m really confused , like every youtuber or people with gliders that i know had this wheels, lately I have seen a lot of bad comments and critics , I only have one glider at the moment and I think that’s why I have never had any problem with my wheel before ( since it is imposible that my glider runs and gets stuck on the back at the same time ) however I’m planning to get a now glider soon and all of this informations it’s really making me think about getting another wheel , I’m really happy with my silent wheel and I don’t know what to do :( , I know I have to do what it is best for my gliders , but I still see a lot of people that have had gliders their entire life and nothing has happen with their silent wheel ... confuse
@mypawfectfamily3 жыл бұрын
I completely get where you’re coming from! For me, I just didn’t think it was worth the risk. Initially, I had the silent spinner wheel and their new cruiser wheel and they never even touched the silent spinner. It’s honestly just a glamorized hamster wheel where as something like the cruiser is tailored specifically for sugar gliders and their needs. The main youtuber I’ve seen use silent spinners are happy tails? But I think she has a partnership with exotic nutrition, so I’m not sure if they affects it at all

What about the Carolina Storm wheels?

They are technically safe but they are tailored for hedgehogs. Sugar gliders don’t love solid tracks:)

Is a giant saucer wheel okay
@mypawfectfamily4 жыл бұрын
QueenGlooby Yes it can work! Most people recommend using that in addition to a wheel. Use atleast a 12 inch. I’ve heard many gliders don’t use the conventional saucers since it’s hard for them to grip, but there is a glider treadmill which is very similar but has fleece so it’s more tailored for gliders needs:)
