It's was a good fight. But everyone needs to understand that they come from different worlds of fighting. They both train different as well. MMA also has boxing in it, but it's not used like it is in Boxing. People on here keep saying let Floyd step into the Conor's ring and he will lose. Yes that is correct, because Floyd is not a mixed martial arts fighter, just like Conor is not a actual boxer. It takes a different type of training to be a boxer as well a mixed martial artist. Give them both credit.

Conor could've won if he was a better athlete, he got tired, but it was a competitive fight. If they fight in MMA, it would be a very different story... Let's say that McGregor would be in jail after the "fight", or SLAUGHTER, i should say; and this isn't exaggerating, Mayweather has never taken a chin to chin kick, he's never had a 170lb man flying through the air to land a knee to the face, never been put to sleep or got a broken limb with a submission, he's never been pounded onto the canvas after being knocked out cold, ETC.

They never last in the Octagon. The only reason Holly had any success is because she wasn't just a boxer, she is a kickboxer. Boxing is one dimensional and these guys can't survive in the Octagon. Floyd wouldn't make it past round one with Conor or most other UFC fightrers.

I wasn't shocked that McGregor didn't have the gas for the Boxing game considering he comes from the MMA game, that's obvious, but I am shocked he did so well in terms of skill when he had the gas. Mayweather was eating shots he shouldn't have, and don't give me the "he wanted mcgregor to punch him in the face until he got tired" excuse, if he could have dodged those shots he would have.

Floyd purposely only threw 5 punches in the first round. He didn't start punching until the fourth round and it was over after that. Mcgregor was 20 pounds heavier than Floyd and got backed up by the smaller fighter. The last stoppage Floyd had was in 2011.

I wish the ref gave Connor a fair go. He was all over connor. I think they knew that connors best chance was to rough him up and wear him out in the clinch and they weren't going to let Connor win no matter what, it would be too damaging for boxing. Why not let the clinch play out more like in a normal boxing match Maybe he would have been beaten anyway, probably in fact but I felt the ref and the sky commentators were very biased . Floyd implemented the perfect game plan considering the tremendous weight cut that Conor had to make and considering the fact that Conor is known for gassing after 8-10 minutes. Floyd intelligently avoided Conor's awkward power early, he studied Conor and got a feel for his style and then he slowly pressed the action as the fight progressed, turning up the heat, stepping up the pace as Conor was eventually forced to fight on empty. Surprisingly Conor did a better job than many of Floyd's recent opponents, however in the end, his cardio let him down and he crumbled. That's Conor's biggest weakness, his mediocre cardio.

Imagine if a top boxer went to compete in a BJJ tournament or wrestling match against GSP or Cain Velasquez (whichever weight the boxer is) and the boxer lasted approx 28 minutes before finally being subbed. That scenario would be a HUGE black eye for the sport of MMA... HUGE. It would prove that Boxing was far superior to MMA. Last night was the exact opposite scenario. It took 49-0 28 minutes to stop 0-0. Shameful. Absolutely nothing to be proud of.

Floyd is 40 and hasn't fought in two years. Conor is bigger,taller and 11 years younger. Besides, Mayweather is not a power puncher, never was. He slowly but surely took over the fight, round after round. Another clueless mma fan, aint ya.

Conner has a lot of heart. The is the fighting Irish personified but he was just not enough for Floyd. Floyd has been a skilled boxer for many years. That's why Conner's face was toast while Floyd came out looking just like he did during Round 1.

Bruce Lee said the most dangerous guy to fight is the guy who can't fight. He doesn't know what he's going to do, so you don't know with any certainty how you might react. Not until Conner ran out of gas, could Floyd react with any certainty what Connors movements should look like. Once Floyd could exploit Conners prescribed movements, Floyd could smell victory. Until then, anything could have happened, which made the fight unpredictable and exciting.

McG boxed a lot better than I expected. But Floyd's gameplan was perfect. People who say McG only lost because he was tired, don't know boxing. Floyd in the end was the superior boxer. But respect to both fighters.

He did good. He's not a boxer, never had the benefit of years of training as a boxer, working his way up the ranks, etc. He literally stepped in the ring off the street and went 10 rounds with the best. He should be proud. Now, of course, Connor could have ended the fight anytime he wanted, but he agreed to the rules that would handicap him. I wouldn't expect him to win anymore than I'd expect Mayweather to win had he stepped into an octagon. It's that simple. But give Mayweather some credit.. he had nothing to prove here, and everything to lose.
