Sugar Ray knew this wasn't a dangerous fight at all for Tua. He knew that Tua would smoke him, which is why he never agreed that Tua should've taken a couple of tune up fights before this one. In reality, Cameron WAS a tune up fight.

LHWWC 2018, he thought he was better than he was. He dissed David in the lead-up and even mouthed off about Iron Mike after a sparring session. Tua never got into shape for Barrett, he was done, unlike the cameron fight where he trained the house down and showed up as the best version of himself and demonstrated the gulf in class between himself and cameron. For me, David knew cameron was his sign-off and just put everything into his camp to show the world just who is the best ever heavyweight to come out of NZ, up till that time. And thats exactly what he did.
