I am so glad you are finding the info helpful. If you have two un neutered males I would highly recommend you get them fixed as they can become very aggressive toward each other. So happy your gliders are being well loved and taken care of :)

I have found with mine that there is 2 levels of the tiss sound (aside from pitching, frequentcy and intensity) just normal tiss for I'm not really liking what you are doing, and a tiss ah-un (kinda like a pouting sound like a snifill short crab almost) this one they have used to say that hurts. I have found quick training happing from using this for bites. I have also found making the click sound (sucking on your tongue to make the click like they do) well eat with them somthing like Clementine wedges. Tldr "tiss" good sound for generic I don't like what you are doing, and "tiss ah-un" (tiss then snifilly crab sound like 20:10) for that hurts me, and clicking with them well sharing food good for bonding

One of my gliders that I got about 3 weeks ago is also pouch protective and crabby. He lunges sometimes but hasn't bitten me once while I've had him. He loves the OE hammock thing that I have in the cage and will even choose that over regular sleeping pouches. He's completely fine in that and he'll let me get him out during the day time when he's sleeping in there, but he gets real crabby when I put him and my other glider (who doesn't have protection problems) in bonding pouches. He prefers being in hoodie pockets I think. One time he even napped on my shoulder behind my hair, and another time in my hood. He just really doesn't like when I open up bonding pouches or when I check on him while he's in them? Yeah, Neo is my demon child xD tl,dr; My suggie is crabby and doesnt like bonding pouches when there are alternatives like hoodie pockets :/

Peka has made so much progress!! Compared to when you first had her, she's hardly crabbing..! I just got two gliders and although my leucistic girl has been easily warming up to me, my standard has been quite shy and has been nipping quite a bit (usually she gradually nips harder on a single part of my finger until she draws blood.) Peka has been such an inspiration to just keep going and I can't thank you enough, love your videos! (Also, I wanted to ask if I would be able to make the 'tiss' noise this early in the bonding stage? I have had them both for about 5 days and I have heard any negative reinforcement isn't good when first starting out, but wanted to ask for your opinion since it's a behavior I really want to work on.)

I think for the first few days basically not doing anything that would allow a bite. After that you can totally do the tssst sound.

Awesome progress 👏 👌 🙂, took advantage of my day off yesterday and did some one on one "stay on me training " with both girls, but individually, as sometimes Ginger gets more pouch protective with Cinnamon in the pouch as well. Made small progress, 😊then they sat with me most of the day. Some books recommend at least 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep for gliders. Do you think if a glider doesn't get the 6 hours it affects the bonding process 🤔? Taking of course into consideration that most mammals (humans included) tend to be cranky without alot of sleep. The question is more weight and health related 😉

Most of my daytime time with them includes them sleeping soundly in my no sew bra pouch. I have never kept them awake during the day longer than maybe 30 min so I can’t really speak to that. 😚

I wish I did. The treats unfortunately that I bought a ton of were from EN🤨. The nectar cups I’ve seen elsewhere and they love them but sometimes when I do order from amazon it’s an EN pack that arrives sometimes it’s on there and sometimes not😒. Clyde and Cash have been ok so far however I would like to get them off of those treats and onto something more reliable . They get the TPG diet and mealies for treats but the nectar cups and yogis are their crack. Do you have a vendor you get treats from? Also trying to find the dried papaya. Thanks a bunch. I am not a breeder so I would not be the best resource for you unfortunately. Maybe try some facebook groups. If they don't have lineage I would not breed them!

Olivia Nix I’m not an expert but pay close attention to how you are touching them when they bite

For my guy appa after seeing how they interact I started using a tiss with a sniffle crab sound (20:10 so happy yours made it, go tiss then try that sound right after) as that was how they told each other when something hurt but not aggressive. For mine this would be trying to eat food the other was holding and getting the fingers, it would then start repeating the sound at 20:10 turing into a crab if the other didn't stop.
