I really like the palette! For sure I feel like it worked better for me if I used a concealer base. The colors are so unique that I think it makes them worth even having to build them up slightly.

I'm fine with sponsorships as long as the products/brands are something that you firmly believe in. I don't like sponsored videos that are clearly done for orher reasons. So many channels do sponsorships from brands that they have never used or even talked about. You know the ones that are just selling products to their audiance when we know damn well, the creator wouldn't spend a dime of theur own money. That stuff drives me crazy!💜

I think sponsorships are fine as long as the youtuber is honest about it. Also as a viewer I want to watch someone have fun and grow. If that is with pr and sponsorships then okay. As long as it fits the person I am watching. If you for example would make videos of all beige palettes and would rave about it, then I would give you a side eye 😝.

I'm glad I got that palette. It's so cute & for my first Sugar Pill experience, it was nice! I for sure want more shades! You created such pretty looks w/ it! Absolutely nothing wrong w/ YTers doing sponsored videos. Anyone who complains probably complains if a YT does a lot of them, for products that they dont actually use or actually love, &/or when they dont disclose that a video is sponsored. Otherwise, theres no real reason to not like them. I realize it takes a lot of work, time, energy & money to run a channel that reviews products, needing to buy the products at launch to get a review video out, as soon as possible-many of those products cost lots of money. Many viewers dont seem to understand what goes into making videos. Yes, it can be a hobby, a side thing, or just for fun, but when you're putting money into the videos, & not getting much back...it sucks. Eventually it will stop being as fun, or the passion fizzes out, etc. So I fully support sponsored videos, especially for smaller channels.

As long as you don't come across like you sold your soul for it I personally would do the same thing and I totally get what you were saying about wanting your channel to turn into something significant, that you want brands to recognize you. Before I continue any farther with the video I want to comment about the introduction: this is completely fine if you don’t make 3 looks with every palette you get. And even 10 looks a week sounds too much. I really enjoy your channel, not because of the reviews but because you are so creative and always find really cool ways to use what you got in a given palette/single shadows/challenge. Yes, I agree that people find you via review and admit that is how I found you as well, but you don’t need to limit yourself for review only for that reason The most important thing is to have fun with your channel :)

That second look works so well with the earrings! I think sponsored videos are a great way for you to earn some extra money. As long as the products are something you enjoy using and the ratio between sponsored and non sponsored videos is right then I don't think it will be an issue for people.

For a matte "colorful" look that I do I just put a cool tone brown in my crease and then pack a colorful color on a flat brush. I wet that flat brush and put it on my eyes, then quickly pack on the colorful shadow. It makes a good transition between the color and neutral IMO

Pastel mattes are their own particular thing, some take a little building, especially the cooler tones, my favs... I just use a light primer and BAM.. No problems. Great vid!

So... I was just fine not having this palette until this video. Not sure if I'm going to pick it up but it's definitely made it to my list. I currently don't really have anything in this color spectrum, now I just need to figure out if I would use these enough? Loving both of these looks btw. I am one of those people who can do an all matte look, though I normally pop a shimmer into my inner corner. I find its easier for me to work with 'sunset' colors (red, orange, yellow, purple, pink) when doing an all matte look however. If I had to work with Browns I wouldn't be able to do just mattes, I know that I started out using basic browns but now it's really hard for me to use just brown and no color. If you feel that you need/want to do sponsored videos then you should. Especially if you are working at YT 40 hours a week!

Both of these looks are Absolutely Gorgeous!!! The second look was My Favorite!!! That JD Glow Eyeshadow is Amazing and that's what I wanted the shades in the Linda Hallberg Spectral Palette to be lol!!! I Love the Stila Little White Lies Toppers eventhough some of them are already a bit dried out :-( I am going to get a new bottle of coraline and see if that fixes them lol! Take as many Sponsorships as you can because I know that you will only take them from brands that you trust and Love and I know that you are Honest and there's nothing wrong with making money doing what you Love!!! I'm a matte girl. When I first got into eyeshadow I was pulled into the impact and beauty of shimmers, but I've found mattes actually look better on me and fit my style more. I have severely hooded eyes and rarely do anything on the lid anymore.

Another comment (17:50) about all Matt looks- I do almost only colorfull looks and most of them used to be all mat looks. I actually trying to get myself more into shimmers. As a color lover I feel like mats are more true to color while shimmers reflect light and thus show less the original shade. The convention that shimmers can hide imperfections and save a patchy look is new to me. With hooded eyes and small lid space I don’t find it difficult to make everything look good enough (for me at least). I usually just tap one color into another instead of blend.

I think you should do sponsor videos. You should open yourself up to grow your channel and make extra money doing so. I think you are a great you tuber and I feel like you should be compensated for that. I love your honesty and how real you are. That is so hard to find these days. There is so much fake nonsense out there that I just don’t get. So keep doing you, you are amazing! OK, being the curious, nerdy person that I am (& trying to recall what I learned & forgot from Anatomy & Physiology in uni), the area of the eye where you like to place eyeshadow at the beginning of your first look would generally be called the "medial orbit" (medial means closest to the mid-line). The orbit, or socket, has 7 bones that all come together to create it. Pretty cool, eh? So basically, you are first placing shadow in the medial orbit area! (👁️👃➡️👁️) P. S. That JD Glow shadow is BEAUTIFUL! 💜💜💜

I have no issues with you doing sponsored videos or showcasing what you have received in PR as this is your job, you work hard at it & deserve to be paid & to grow your channel. I'm glad I'll always be a small channel though💕. When I sit down to film I often just do what I'm feeling like doing that day. I would hate to feel like I have to get a video done cos that would take the joy out of it for me. It's great that KZbin has room for everyone whatever their goals are. I have to tell you about this! I was at Burlington school shopping and I found the Smashbox primer! but that isn't what I needed to tell you, I don't remember how much it was but they only had white which I was scared of but I risked it. It blended out to be a cream shade almost and it doesn't do that weird thing under the brow, and OH MY GOSH my colors POPPED. Since its white I have no issues with my shadows pulling yellow, such a good purchase, what do you think about the white? I know you hate white primer.

As it fits into your goals for your channel, by all means, please do the sponsored videos! This is your channel to take in any direction you like, it’s nice that you request opinions first though. People may think that the KZbinr may say things they don’t necessarily believe, just to get more sponsors. I cannot see you ever saying something that you don’t wholeheartedly believe. You are too forthright and it’s one of the things that makes me love your videos (your creativity and use of colors are a couple more reasons). I do colorful looks too and, while I use a lot of mattes, I have to use shimmers too. It makes it more complete imho. 😻💙💙

I agree that the only way to really get views is to have the newest releases up the quickest. Unfortunately, by the time products are released to the public, those that have gotten it in PR have already made videos about it and it’s old news. I honestly don’t even try to rush and get the newest products as quick as I can anymore. Also, it makes it feel as if that’s what I HAVE to do, and I don’t like that. As much as I want my channel to grow and one day hope to get monetized, I don’t want to stress myself out about not getting things up fast enough. That would eventually take away the joy and passion, in my opinion, and I would never want that. There are so many youtubers that don’t care about what they’re doing anymore and it shows in their content. I’m just trying to get out as much content as I can that I am passionate about and proud of, that’s all I can honestly do 🤷‍♀️ But you BLEW UP, so you obviously know what you’re talking about 😂 And YES to sponsorships! You work so hard and deserve to make some money 💜

Yeah it really is hard to grow without being first to review something. I love the thrill of trying to be one of the first to post with something, its a fun challenge 😂. I totally agree that a lot of people seem like theyre just going through the motions and dont really care anymore, which is sad. I hope I'm able to keep it fun for as long as I do this and that I'm able to balance things. We'll see. This whole thing is a learning process and I'm sure I'll make mistakes along the way too
