I have been in the food business for 40 years and cooking much longer than that. All that said, I must say to you you bring a bright freshness of old school cooking. Thank you so much I really appreciate your recipes. Especially like the one for the beef Ragu. I showed it to my wife and she begged me to make it. By the way, she makes a joke that she made her meal for me 31 years ago and hasn’t had to cook since. I guess we all have our individual talents. Keep yours going amazing

on the menu for tomorrow evening looks yummy! we use a product called "barkeepers friend" which i now have to purchase on line, because our 3 local stores no longer carry it. when emeril first began selling his own line of stainless pans, he recommended it as the best cleaner for stainless and copper. it is a powder, and comes in a shaker top can. gentle enough to use on glass, (oven door glass), yet polishes up stainless and copper beautifully!

I will be making this in the next day or so. YOU see Sam, I screwed up. I spent a day making homemade beef stock for the pot roast that I made yesterday. OH and it came out great. BUT I had frozen the stock in way too big a quantity. SO now I have some of my precious stock sitting in the refrigerator getting ready to go bad. WHAT to do? Search your recipes for something that used beef stock of course! AND BONUS I also have baby bellas that need to be used. SO this recipe for the win. LOL I think I have mentioned that I have the same cookware as you have. But recently I bought a cast iron 12 inch skillet and I think it will give me a good bit more room to cook these steaks in. I've no doubt that these will be awesome. I'll let you know, Jim

Hi Sam, thank you for the recipe, I haven't had Salisbury steak since forever, I think since it's usually the frozen dinner kind, never made it from scratch. Your recipe look delicious and I have all of the ingredients, I can't wait to make it today! Also the hack that works for me for cleaning my pots is tomato sauce. I think this has been around for a while, but I accidentally found this out when I was too lazy to wash my pot with the some of the spaghetti sauce left, and when I finally did the next morning, my stainless steel pot was so shiny! I believe this hack works with dutch ovens and ceramics too! 🤭

This recipe is a keeper! It was delicious, everyone loved it, we had it with butternut squash and rice. For the cleaning hack, when my pots get gross, it's time to make spaghetti! The remaining sauce I leave for a few hours or overnight to really see results, if just cleaning, maybe buy cheap pasta sauce, I believe it works better if sauce is simmered. This works for my stainless steel cookware, I hope it works for you too! Good luck!💖

For my stainless i usually throw some water to (deglaze) it after im finshed cooking and then throw it in the sink with hot tap water running, scrub it with a non soapy scrubber. Then throw it back on the stove to dry then splash some oil in and wipe out excess. I store my pans on the wall on a peg board.

A good way to keep the shine on stainless steel pans is to season them, it's very common for cast iron but farily unknown that it could be done and it works great with stainless steel too. A light coating of oil, on the pan, put on the stove until the smoke point then take it off and leave it to cool down, it will help a lot with things sticking too since it can be a problem with stainless steel. For unseasoned pans you can use something acidic instead, after washing them try to rub some vinegar or lemon juice, it removes the light white stains that sometimes for on the surface after washing the pan and makes it shine, not sure it works with the brown ones though.

My stainless steel stock pot was getting stains like that on the bottom and I wasn't sure what to use, either. I ended up dumping some baking soda in and adding just a tiny amount of water then scrubbing with a sponge that's got a silicone net around it. But any type of scrubbing sponge would work, I imagine. Anyway, it took some scrubbing but it did get it back to looking like new again.

I use distilled vinegar to remove the darker spots/stains on my stainless steel pots and pans. Clean your pan as you normally do and dry it. Put the pan back on the stove and pour enough distilled vinegar into the pan to cover the darker spots. Heat the vinegar to a simmer and it's letting off steam. Turn off the heat and allow the pan to cool completely. (Since I am usually cooking in the evening, I'll let the pan cool overnight.) Pour out the vinegar, rinse the pan with cool water, and dry the pan. Let me know if this works for you.

The salts include salt plus dried and ground onion or garlic, while the powders are just onion or garlic. They aren't interchangeable, so you'll want to reduce the salt in the recipe if you do use the garlic or onion salt 🙁

When I did this recipe, I didn't even get to 2 cups of flowers and it was already as dry as it can be. I followed everything else liquid wise just fine, so where did I go wrong?

Mix in about a half teaspoon of ground thyme. That would put it over the top

I had been looking for a Salisbury steak recipe and decided to go with this one. I made it tonight for dinner, and honestly, I was underwhelmed considering all the work it took to make. There was too much tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce for my liking. Overall, it was OK, but not great for all the effort and time. And it took me way longer than 35 minutes to make - there were so many little steps, so many ingredients, and a lot of prep work. And then you have to make mashed potatoes on top of that! With that said, I'm still going to give the soft gingerbread recipe and maybe the beef stew recipe a try this fall/winter.

I realize that this video is a year old but I only discovered this channel recently - came here to say that I also can’t stand mushrooms and olives 😂 I saw the shrooms in the thumbnail but thought “They’re big enough to pick out”. And I will 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@@SugarSpunRun Hope you make a video on your results. There was a video where someone (I wish I could remember who) tested multiple ways of removing burnt on food. Of the tested methods boiling some baking soda in water for a few minutes and letting it soak made removal a cinch. You'd still have to polish as it doesn't remove all the bits but it does work.
