The Mafia element is what made the label so cool imo. Then you add in the gang history. That iconic photo that was a spoof of Goodfellas featuring Suge, Pac, Snoop & Dre is as legendary as the original w Joe Pesci, De Niro and Ray Liotta (RIP). I binged The Sopranos for the first time this year and I kept casting DRR in the series!!! Suge is Tony aka Skipper. Larger than life, respected, but a heaux and too arrogant. I see Reg as Sil the consigliere, the right hand man. Sil could be strait laced or a gangsta it all depends but without him Tony knew it was over. Mob James reminds me of a nicer Richie Aprile!!! He doesn’t respect Tony/Suge and it’s just constant tension lol. Dre is Paulie always looking out for themselves. Remember Paulie was the last man standing. Snoop is Big P--y, you like him and the history is there but you can’t trust him. Pac is Christopher without the drug prob and beating women! He adored Tony like Pac did Suge. A true soldier but a hot head. Always thinking he knows best. The Mafia angle really worked for DRR. I would say Diddy is Johnny Sacks always thought he was better than everyone else but lost all his $ all his respect and died in prison.

Suge learned the music business through Dick Griffey. Suge also came into the music business at a time were Mafia tactics were used in music. Look up Morris Levy. Suge was just smart enough to flip and use the same tactics on them that they used on musicians in the 50's and 60-70's. 88-95 Suge was on his game. He played the background and let his reputation speak. I say 96 on he started to reveal his self more to public wish was part of his downfall. Something Reggie always talks about.

On the Papa G involvement, I am pretty sure it was archive footage from another interview (the one MTV did on Death Row in 1997-98) that they just sourced it. I could be wrong though. Haven't seen the movie in a minute. I do remember they had Dre clips in there but they were taken from the interview he did for his Behind the Music special. Snoop filmed an interview. Jewell did and the Vibe reporter, Kevin Powell, but I think Nate's comments were taken from the MTV special.

@WarriorsforlnfoTV I seen that VLAD TV interview when Tray Deee said that. Tray Deee wasn't never sigend to Death Row i don't know why he would say that to Suge knight in the first place. Tray Deee appeared on the murder was the case soundtrack however it was up to Snoop (not Suge Knight) to pay him for his feature however Tray Deee did say in another Interview with Vlad that when he was feature on songs by Snoop, Tha Dogg Pound & Nate Dogg Suge would say how much Tray Deee want for that feature? o.k. cool write the check for him. Plus let me say i like Tray Deee he is a good postive peaceful brother.

Exactly. I have heard throughout the years that Suge Knight when he love & care for you or you are someone that he doesn'tknow he is a nice good. Now as Reggie said once Suge Knight is through with you and he view you as a enemy then he will start using the fear tactics, the intimidation tactics, , the bully tactics, down talking you, slandering your name, and a lot of the times just lying on you. But all in all Suge does most definitely get a bad rap.
