If they got this to 40mm diameter, 47 lug to lug, 12mm thick and a 20mm standard lug width, this would be such a green light. Hoping for a V2, because I'd love to get a Goldstone dial. Most of us don't have 8 inch lumberjack wrists, unfortunately.

Yeah, those dimensions don’t suit such a design

Sapphire glas on a watch is always Synthetic. Hardlex is a mineral glas propriety brand name from Seiko. Mineral glas is not plastic. So the front is Synthetic Sapphire, the back is a mineral glas.

Excellent points, and yeah its interesting the more i look deeper how they build these for value. You should change your youtube ID to the “Watch Professor” haha. I love your insightful comments. Thanks again Professor Bense!

I am not a watch professor, just a watch enthusiast. I love watching watch reviews. Every review has it's own insight, it's own value, it's own perspective, it's own opinion. There are big channels I don't like, there are small channels I do like, and everything in between. Keep up the reviews, love it.

Yeah but transparent aluminum which it kinda is, is more than sufficient to the task. I was not aware of what sapphire glass actually was though until I saw your comment and decided to look it up. Amazing how far we've come with this kind of stuff. :)

First time on the channel and you've done a really good job with the review. The dial on this looks stunning and the finishing is great. Shame about the lug width but still awesome. Might have to grab one for review. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for checking out the channel, and yeah its a shame as this really isn’t for anyone with small wrists. Congrats 🎉 👏 on hitting 1000 subs. Count me in on your channel, love what your doing.

Great review - waiting for mine to arrive. Just a small tip - your calipers have two sets of measuring blades - the inverted ones are better suited for measuring lug width. I think this watch would look quite nice with a range of outfits, I do agree it is a statement piece.

This watch should also be in rose-gold and allready with push button deployant clasp hehe
@MeTaLISaWeSoMe952 жыл бұрын
I picked up the rose gold enamel dial version. Looking forward to it coming in. An enamel dial and a moonphase on a sub 200 watch is amazing no matter what way you spin it, just fantastic. That said, good review. Definitely focus on the band as well in your next reviews. It's an important factor. Additionally synthetic sapphire is the industry best, and the mineral on the back of the case is entirely fine since there isn't any chance of severe damage to the bottom of the watch while in use. Most watches with a display back are the same way.

Does it have same problem about the double moon?

Hey man, thanks for the wrist shots, the new video style is looking sharp. The thickness, 21 mm strap and double moon are not deal breakers for me but they do give me pause for though. I'll have to give it a think over but I'm really tempted.

I just measure my monster diver which I thought was very think and it came in at 12. 14mm on this is huge for a dress watch. The 50mm lug to lug is also massive for a dress watch. Lugs pulled down would help on a new version

BTW Hardlex is a mineral, not plastic. The main crystal on all Sugess is sapphire.

First... Great review of this watch. Second... I just discovered your channel. Was disappointed to see you havent posted in a couple years. Hoping that you are able to post more videos soon. Either way... I subscribed just in case you do.

I watched your "preview" (unboxing) video and then this review. Good job on improving the style & quality of your videos! Thanks for posting the content, trying to decide if to get this for the mrs (she's into big and slightly blingy watches). Too bad about the double moon thing. PS1 5:58 - I think you're refering to the rotor. PS2 you took a stone to a Tudor black bay chrono? 😱

Hey man how well did the watch last? Any issues with keeping time and quality control issues?
@alanalain4884 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the cool and detailed review... For measuring the band width, you know you can use the other side and mesure between the lug, right? ;) Otherwise, the watch is really cool, and the "defect" of the moon disk gives it kind of a charm, like those rare coins or stamps with mistakes. The dial looks awesome under light, and like you say, the double window date, elegantly metal framed makes, this watch actually a pretty nice, desirable piece. If they could come with a 39mm case on that, it would be an instant large-scale seller. But I guess the seagull movement wouldn't fit anymore. A brand to watch closely, like Stührling, with their beautiful but hard to find now Saturnalia 213. (And 45mm... An unreachable esthetic fit for us, with 7" wrist and less. Thumbed and subscribed...

Hi! I purchased this Chinese model from Aliexpress. The value for money is good. The only downside is that it doesn't show the phases of the moon accurately.

Get the Sugess ST2108 version. I think it's the nicest version they make. Very much a Breguet homage but nice.

Looks nice but then I notice a 60 seconds chapter ring with not centre seconds but sub at 6? Ruined it 😒

The crown must be out to adjust the moon phase or it can damage the wheel

Sales always come up. Even ask the seller if you can get a better discount, sometimes they will send you a coupon or modify the price for you.

The case lacks refinement, too bulky. The large date and the very white font are much too prominent. It's not so much a dress watch as a showpiece. Sólás from Ireland are, to my mind, the only viable alternative (Zelos is too busy, Lange, well, few pockets are deep enough...).
@AnotherWatchChannel2 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah its a bit of a show piece without question. I love it on the wrist to change it up though. Lange is awesome… wish I was rich enough haha. The common sense in me wouldnt allow me to buy one even if I had the money. Thats why I love finding good value in the $100-$300 market segment. Affordable for most without breaking the bank.
@shine2rust2 жыл бұрын
Solas' design and finishing are probably more refined (apart from the ugly logo) and it also comes with the micro rotor movement, but at 3x the price. And no moonphase.

Couple of incorrect statements in the sapphire testing segment. Hardlex is not a polymer, it's a mineral glass that Seiko uses, the back of the Sugess is probably just glass. Also every single watch on Earth with a sapphire crystal uses synthetic sapphire (which is identical to "natural" sapphire in all ways except that it has no impurities and can be made into pretty much whatever shape). There are some watches that say they use sapphire when they really don't (Invicta).

Also ,small advice ,please when you re doing review of "affordable" watch ,tell us if bracelet is usable ,or it has to go to a trash.This one looks okay ,but you never know till you have it in your hands.Other parts of review ,spot on ,not to long ,not to short.I am thinking of buying it ,you told me everything I need to know ,keep up with good work ,and I hope you get over 10k subs fast ,than you ll start flying.Once again ,anything with graphics ,including intro just let me know ,you have my email.

DO NOT BUY - Had mine less than a month and after one (small!) fall the date window no longer worked correctly. Called a repair shop and I was told Chinese brands don't send parts to the USA for repairs and you can only send it back to the factory. In addition, they have a habit of literally grinding away their own gears. THEY ARE CHEAP FOR A REASON!
