We actually spoke on this afterwards and this honestly just had an uncomfortable feeling to it. When Dickie does it with IA it’s more of a story and also tongue and cheek as you said. This was more on the real side with vivid detail that made it uncomfortable. It also took a few listens to get into IA for us but now we’re all in with them. This version of Cannibal Corpse just doesn’t do it for us.

While Cannibal Corpse still writes songs about violence, torture, gore, the dead, and the undead, they haven't gone as far as this cut since. What's funny is I noticed that they have kinda stayed away from this song live for the most part. Fun fact: during the Cannibal Corpse documentary, when the band and other musicians were asked what CC would write about if they run out of ideas of brutal ways to die, bassist Alex Webster talked about a story about a woman who, at the time, recently died from water poisoning (drinking too much water). That's a song title: "Forced Barrel Water Consumption."

I think that in order to eventually (and I insist, eventually, because brutal death metal isn't for everyone) early Cannibal Corpse stuffs, you have to understand that their motivation behind such lyrics was to show the reality of serial killers at a time when there was somekind of "trend" around that with specialized magazines, tv shows, and even cinema, with a certain habit to use these subjects because IT SELLS while nobody really cared for the victims behind. We all have already read newspapers saying "HORRIBLE SERIAL KILLER ARRESTED" blablabla on the frontpage as an attraction tool for people to buy it. And the goal of Cannibal Corpse was to show the reality behind that, to show that, no, it's not just a human being killing another human being, it's not as in movies, it's not only an article in sunday's newspaper, it's an horrible, crude, vicious and disgusting reality with absolutely nothing funny about. Now everyone is free to dislike it, that's not a problem at all, but I think it's important to notice that the main intention is not the shock value. Remember that at this time, death metal lyrics were more written from a "horror movie" point of view. Cannibal Corpse did the invert and described reality, as disgusting and shocking it is.

That era is one that if you weren’t already into the band, it’ll definitely push you away. For some better (or more tolerable I guess) Cannibal, since you went with something more obscure, I’d say check out Crucifer avenged from Torture, High Velocity Impact Spatter from A skeletal Domain and/or Condemnation Contagion From Violence Unimagined. You’ll enjoy those infinitely more than this (keep in mind I’m someone who loves Cannibal Corpse, the Barnes era was one that was really difficult for me to get into and that’s putting the lyrics aside). Oh two other bonus suggestions, The strangulation chair from Torture or Barbaric Bludgeonings from Kill. All I’ll say is don’t let this deter you from Cannibal, you could tell it was a different lineup and era, I’m just more into newer Cannibal, but we all have our preferences.

Chris Barnes was the best of Cannibal Corpse and this song is one of the best songs ever. George (CorpseGrinder) Fisher Is still great but early Chris Barnes in Cannibal Corpse is still the best imo...

WOW OK never having listened to this band before I wasn’t sure what to expect but reading the title of the song I was extremely nervous and holy shit I am completely with Chels on this one I was completely disgusted by the lyrics although watching your reaction I was kind of laughing along with Mat because as bad as it was I was just like oh my God😆😆 JEEEEZ I thought Rammstein had some fucked up lyrics until I heard that😆😆😆😆😆 & I’m totally not a fan of that vocal style at all but musically it wasn’t bad to listen to

Sorry to disagree with most here, but Chris Barnes really sucked bad!!! He was unintelligible even with the lyrics on screen. My money is on George Corpsegrinder Fisher!!
