There has always been an argument on this. National Insurance contributions are deducted from a gross salary or income before PAYE deductions are calculated so arguably it has not been taxed along with peoples net income. A bit iffy really but that is why up until now anyway State Pensions are always included as part of peoples gross annual income. They can squeeze a bit more out of us using that formula! 🙄

I only have a basic state pension. I can not claim any extras as I was silly enough to save when I was working. If I had been work-shy and hadn't worked I could have claimed every benefit known to man and had my rent and rates paid by the council. We are already taxed on our state pension and if we have now to pay for social care. I will not be able to manage. The government is wasting billions on housing migrants and paying for their keep and the British people are forgotten, yet it is the British people who will pay for their keep. I do not agree with the violence used in the riots, however, this is the only thing our government fears, they are not interested in peaceful demonstrations and it may take violence to get the people's message across. I love my country and I am sickened by what successive governments have done to destroy it.

Re phrase that to illegal immigrants, here's a for instance.......my wife is from a none EU country, she has worked here full time for 17 years paying full stamp and paying her tax so she has paid for her health care....NO! as far as visa's go part of the fee is now IHS .....immigrant health surrcharge and this is for all visa applications for people from none EU countries. An effective opposition doesn't suddenly find any massive _'black hole'_ or hidden surprises. Not with the IFS, OBR and Treasury making regular reports and being entirely approachable with FOI requests and cross-party committee scrutiny. The lack of any policy detail prior to the election made clear they were always going pull a few strokes if they got in, and they suckered everyone who voted for them. I worked for 50 years served 15 years in the military had good jobs and paid my taxes and NI I thought I had a contract with the government when I retired ,my pension would be paid to help me to live my remaining years without starving . How stupid of me , my electricity bill has doubled since last year , food has increased over 100% , my council tax has increased so it wipes out a week of my pension , water rates have gone up and now the government want to take a slice out of my pension to pay for their mismanagement . I can not afford to go through this winter without that fuel payment my savings are going down each month to cover my expenses , the council will have to pay to bury me I can not.
