I neither want nor need the Heating Allowance. I am sure there are millions of pensioners like me who would rather see it go to people in need. Labour originally gave us the Heating Allowance and it was opposed by the hypocritical Tory Party who are now championing it. We need vast amounts of investment in this country and quickly if we want services to survive.

Pensioners are the biggest set of whingers. No advanced economy should need all pensioner's fuel payments to be subsided. You've had years of planning for old age. Only the very poorest should have these sorts of things which isn't being scrapped. Child benefit is means tested (based on tax liability), why not this sort of thing?

I am not sure how I will manage 1st October my social housing rent goes up by £8 a week, then fuel is another 10% same month, if Angela Rayner also removes the single occupancy I will not have enough. I am on the basic pension so my increase next yet is only hinted at around £300 a lot less than the younger pensioners so it is war on older end. I am about to start applying for working from home I am 72 not what I expected my retirement to be.
