And you're talking about Dhoni while I respect Dhoni but belive me none of the modern day batsmen would have survived in front of those lethal bowling attacks of Ambrose,Walsh,Akram,Waqar,Donald,Pollock,McGrath,Warne,Muralidharan etc. In those days the normal bowling speed of fast bowlers would be more than 140kmph. And nowadays we rarely get to see bowlers bowling at speed of more than 140kmph.

About 2 weeks after this removing of the wrist band incident occurred, Ambrose destroyed Australia in the deciding Test Match at the WACA in Perth with a devastating spell of 7 for 1 (that's 7 wickets for 1 run, not the other way around). Australia were crushed by an innings inside of 3 days, the West Indies won the series, and Ambrose got 3 individual awards all at the same time immediately after.
