I liked how they added Ken and Koromaru to the cerimony scene. Both were missing in the original game, but appeared in the movie at least. Glad that they go some references from the movie too, with them running though the halls and stairs to reach the protagonist and Aigis.

Biggest fear of dying is no one being there or caring. It's so brutal yet comforting to think that even if everyone else in SEES had forgotten about Makoto, Aegis would still be there to reassure him in his final moments. That alone, to me at least, justifies what happened in the original version of The Answer and likely why Makoto trusted her the most.

I really like how the credits can easily represent the protagonist’s consciousness fading away as they die. We see them enter the ocean and slowly descend deeper and deeper as the background gets fuzzy until we see nothing but black. While they descend they have memories of the closest people that meant a lot to him. All the SEES members. In their dying moments they think about their friends.

I just finished Persona 3 Reload last night and it was my first time playing P3. I enjoyed every part of this game and you bet your bottom dollar that I was crying like a baby at this ending. The characters were so memorable and seeing them all together at the end made me realize how much I love this cast. Everyone had their special reasons for fighting for their future which made each one of them relatable and special in my eyes. Persona 3 Reload is officially my second favorite Persona game (the first being Persona 5 Royal.)

I was so confused when I got to this scene because Aigis doesn't seem to be acting as if he is dying yet I am thinking he is. After a rewatch its clear she doesn't know he is dying but a part of her realizes it and its why she cries.

I think Aigis did realize it. When she comes to get you from your room she says it's because she's afraid you're going to go somewhere far away again. Makoto died during the fight with Nyx but he came back and hung on through sheer willpower to make it to graduation day.

@@24hr-Gaming I think its her 'human' side conflicting with her AI. She can scan him and knows he is dying yet that part isn't in control anymore. So it's a more literal sense of 'a part of her' is aware he is 'going far away' where she cannot follow. She's in deep thought about the concept of 'nothing living forever' but she doesn't understand why she is so focused on this concept or why she is so upset. It is sweet that she fulfills her promise of being there with him when he dies. It's just sad she isn't aware. Which makes the scene we never get to see much more traumatic. She too would've been as panicked and distraught as the rest of the gang when they discover he is gone.

She doesn't know he's dying, remember he doesn't actually die on the rooftop, he enters a coma THEN dies the next day, even if she could scan his vitals they would be normal up till he just suddenly dies on march 6. I think she cries tears of joy after fighting for so long and finally stopping the dark hour, she thinks that everyone made it out alive and is coming to the rooftop, she thinks that she'll be able to continue go on peacefully with Makoto and protect him, which is what makes his sudden death the next day hit her so hard

Ah yes…the tragic, bittersweet ending of probably the most depressing game I’ve ever played that scarred me back in 2011, with the all so classical theme song which, once understanding the lyrics and by certain characters’s point of view, makes it even more tragic and sad. I can’t believe in gonna go through this…AGAIN.

One detail I wish they kept from the original ending was Aigis’ appearance. In the ending animations for the original she looks more human, her headphone looking parts are removed and her legs and hands look human. However I still think atlus did a great job with the ending and memories of you is going to stay stuck in my head again 🥲

This has got to be the most emotionally resonant moment of any video game I’ve personally ever played! Been a while since a piece of media has had a genuine emotional effect on me, but this entire ending sequence and the lead up to it had me bawling like an absolute baby! 😢 As someone who suffers with depression and often ponders the reason of my very existence, this game’s themes of life and death and how it teaches you to treasure the time you have really spoke to me on a personal level! What an absolutely phenomenal game and remake this was! Thank you ATLUS for creating such an emotionally powerful work of art that will stay with me for the rest of my life!

Damn I thought I was ready for it this time but nope I think I cried even more. Loved the new ending cutscene and the animation, P3R is such an excellent remake. If rumors are to be believed we'll be getting The Answer sometime this year, so I'm looking forward to that. On a side note I failed to max out social ranks on my first run AGAIN... damn it. NG+ it is.
