so fun fact, Nyx Avatar was nerfed in Reload in OG, Nyx Avatar's basic attack was Almighty AOE and in later half of arcanas, Nyx had access to one of their unique move: Moonless Gown, a move that makes them repel *everything* in the game for 3 turns and no, attacking them does not put it away. So Nyx, at any point, could just say "nuh uh" and stall you for 3 turns where you can't do anything while Nyx pummels you with basic attack.

True to life, Death is always unexpected and shocking, but what many movies and games forget to do at all or what they handle the poorest is the aftermath. People are gonna regret their friends' departure, they're gonna curse fate for taking their loved one away. They will be enraged, they will be sad, they will cry and they will break down. Especially in the case of people who have been exposed to death of a friend for the first time in their life... their life will change forever. Seeing your characters take over 2 months to get over another's death, witnessing them weep, get angry or even depressed LONG AFTER the event concluded is the truest representation of the human psyche.

Loved the video ❤️ absolute banger as usual the editing was so on point and its awesome to see you play and enjoy a persona game so much! Just gonna comment on anything I feel you may like to know if you didnt already! :) A cool thing to note Priestess and a few other enemies have fake weaknesses. She takes 2x dmg from fire so while Agi is weaker than Garula it will actually do higher damage and for cheaper sp The Lovers boss like 99% of boss encounters in the game is scripted. Idk what Atlus was thinking but after the initial opening set of moves Lovers will use Agidyne, Sexy Dance, Agidyne, Heartbreaker, Holy Arrow on loop. Holy arrow is also an enemy exclusive move which is an 100% crit rate and Lovers has an absurd luck stat I think its 60 so even with resist charm it will crit and most likely charm you so guarding before those makes the fight a pushover. Justice and Chariot only split if you use a theurgy but they will loop the pattern Charge, Explosive Shot, Charge, Pierce Shot so you can guard both shots, heal between one and then use a gem or getsu-ei gaming crits to chip it down. It does seem to randomly have a bullet attack added in, unsure if it can crit but never did on me. It makes the fight close to an hour long but 0 chance of dying. At around 100hp left they have a scripted split and 1 megidola gem is enough to win as long as you dont get crit on that turn. Hermit has 2 different patterns depending on if you hit the damage requirement to break its charge or keep it charging. Iirc as long as you crit with getsu-ei on merciless it breaks its charge and it will never phys you so you can just sit on a Null Elec persona or apply a magic mirror during the charge turn and then go ham with the free turn and if you do enough again you lock it into the same thing again. Its sort of unknown. Even the speedrun discord didnt know it till recently but crit rate boost and crit rate amp do NOT stack. The formula uses apt pupil on the base crit rate of the move then checks if the enemy has sharp student then adds crit rate amp/boost but if both are active it just checks for amp. Another weird quirk is Rebellion and Revolution DO stack and have separate buff timers being a +7% and +15% buff. You can use this with an optimal heavens blade build to go into a fight with a 97% crit rate before luck stat gets factored in! It would be 100% if boost stacked but sadly not but with 99 luck all enemies but Liz are essentially 100% crit rate. Theurgies funnily enough a weaker base power by normal moves by a significant amount however their formula works much different. Charge/Conc gives a 2.3x multiplier to normal skills and only 2.0x to theurgy. But damage calculations take into account magic and strength stat so Siggy with Scarlet Havoc is still better off having 99 magic despite it not being magic based. Strength and Fortune are much different than in FES where you could stop the wheel on your own but there was a way to manipulate the wheel to land on what you wanted so i guess they changed it to be scripted. The 300 damage can be a massive pain but the whole fight is predetermined. I mapped out the exact moves they use in order. Fortune will spin the wheel a total of 7 times each result being the exact same in the same order with a Garudyne in between occasionally then after will never use it again and just spam wind. Strength after the opening will use Rebellion, Mobius Rondo, then Gigantic Fist 3 times on loop, Mobius Rondo also never misses so you can either guard it or use an attack mirror (even tho Strength nulls all its own attacks) Another cool thing with Jin his unique move just poisons himself and since they didn’t make it a unique ailment like the other games sometimes have they had to make him not immune to poison for this fight. He is highly resistant to it but it is possible to poison him which is great since a lot of bosses like him have those dumb hp thresholds where you hit for like 1000+ dmg and it only does 50 despite the number saying otherwise and giving them a turn even if you crit. Like earlier I mentioned with boss patterns even Nyx has patterns. The final phase pattern is quite long winded but if you know it you’re pretty much set to go. Apocalypse will never kill it will set you to a few hp so if you happen to be at like 20hp but know Nyx’s following move is Apocalypse then you know you get a free turn to karn/buff as healing would be pointless since Apoc would just put you to low hp regardless. As for the Reaper a friend of mine who datamined the game showed me a big weakness in his AI. If you are under an ailment that increases the odds of you being crit the reaper will always go for physical both turns in first half and physical + insta kill in the second half of the fight. Even if you repel physical he will still go to hit you so by using Weird Takoyaki to self inflict fear you can make the reaper game end himself using THE WALL! Or if you want to be really sneaky you can abuse skill mutation chaining and I’ve proved its possible to beat him at level 16 on merciless the earliest point you can fight him! It still involves rng as 1 turn without fear on you has very high odds of death but occasionally he will tentarfoo of evil smile then follow up with phys which was very nice of him. I don’t know if you’re still interested in trying to find methods for beating Liz theurgieless I was talking to Doors and he mentioned you wanting to know about it. With dlc (sadly) and using Rage strats off her Nebiros you can almost do it on merciless. The game has a 5x passive damage cap however Raging Tiger is excluded from this so with a maxed out Cendrillion and with the bodacious Deus Xiphos you can hit for 7,000 damage in a single hit with the rage boost and raging tiger + all slash passives far exceeding a regular slash skill like Brave Blade. Then a maxed out Goemon Diamond Dust can do around 2600 damage. So you can line up to 10,001 hp or close then wait for rage, pray for a max roll crit, her megidolaon gets tanked and wipes your rage then diamond dust the pixie. I figured out buff timers stack upto a hard cap of 15 turns so you can prepare charge and concentrate for this, ensure heat riser and debilitate are stacked and then ice break a before hand so that Pixie doesnt Null the DD. A max roll 8 hit Shining Arrows would actually do slightly over 3000 damage and work…. Only Light Break does not exist so it cant be done…. Another method would be to use Lucifers Blade which has a higher base damage which would do the 400+ dmg needed to close to gap instead of Deus Xiphos however since Nebiros infuriated you for Rage she resists all affinity in that turn so Luci Blade ends up doing far less. Sadly no physical breaks either but this means Hard is doable without needing Protag Theurgy or Oracle! I’m not sure what personas you were trying to fuse to gain Mastery but its dependant on the ingredients involved in the fusion. Only certain arcanas have it in the mutation pool so a lot of dlcs and special personas simply cannot get Magic Mastery such as Arsene, Telos and others. For special fusions its the top 2 ingredients that count only. I and a friend found the optimal set up for Magic Mastery is on Beelzebub specifically because of the skill tiers it has and the arcanas while also allowing 5 moves to be passed down which still only has roughly a 1/180 chance of getting mastery. Most regular fusions have approx a 1/250 odds and a lot of special fusions due to the lack of ways to fuse them have around 1/400 since 1 of the 2 ingredients being unable to mutate it makes it much rarer. A cool thing I did find out though is that accidents let you get mastery on personas that normally cannot have it. Pixie can only be fused via Lovers + Lovers so she cannot get magic mastery as they don’t allow it….. However you can get a fusion accident using other persona ingredients! Accidents are calculated from -10 to +1 of the MC level not taking into account anything else (+3 level if result is fool with high odds of result being a fool) Repel Physical passives cannot be mutated from Lovers but by being lower than mc level 12 and accidenting into a pixie I was able to get her repel slash and repel strike using other ingredients so by extension magic mastery is also possible to get on her! By being even lower level you can eliminate the amount of personas you accident into and with a tricky setup you can guarantee the result if accident is 100% a pixie….. sadly I wasn’t able to get it as the odds even after all this is roughly 1/25,000 for accident + mastery mutation but cool to know its in theory possible! Again such an amazing video I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how you took on the challenge can’t wait for you next one Deus ❤

Actually, bathrooms got nerfed even harder. In the original, going to the bathroom sometimes changed your condition (from a Fatigue mechanic to make sure you didn't grind for hours in one visit) from Good to Great. You could actually make yourself better in battle by going to the bathroom before Tartarus.

The relic is such a fascinating example of how going solo just completely breaks certain fights. The "identifying weakness" line means basically nothing because it doesn't actually identify any weaknesses, it's just coded to use the moves in that pattern on yukari, junpei, and akihiko in that order, and if the move it chooses doesn't hit one of them for a weakness it just chooses its target at random. Those 3 moves aren't a coincidence this fight was made with those party members in mind.

This video was incredible as always, but I felt there were a few things worth giving my input on given the amount I know about the game. ----------------- 12:35 - You mention that Priestess has "No Weakness". While this is technically true, Priestess does actually take 2x damage from Fire, more than the roughly 1.7x (rounding makes the actual amount slightly more complicated, also 1.25x on lower difficulties) you get for hitting actual weaknesses. This has the effect of, among other things, causing Agi to hit about 28-29% harder than Garula during the fight (26.5% without accounting for the rounding that occurs at low damage values). For example, at around 13:40 you showcase a Garula that does 44 damage. Knowing that your magic stat was probably 11 at the time (I saw 11, and was able to narrow it down to a range of 11-13 in the damage formula), and assuming you weren't above level 11, I can tell you that Agi in that same situation, with that same RNG, would have done 56. I don't blame you for not knowing about this, as (like with many things in megaten) the game never tells you. Priestess aside it's also a rare interaction, otherwise only appearing on one of the treasure hands that can randomly appear in Tartarus (Supreme Hand takes 2x from Pierce), one of the greedy shadows (Principled Checkmate, the one you need to kill for a Gold Medal, takes 2x from all except Almighty), the Tartarus Guardians on floors 36 (Disturbing Dice takes 2x from Elec damage) and 54 (both the Lascivious Lady and accompanying Profligate Gigas take 2x from Strike damage), the statues in the Hanged Man fight (the smaller ones take 2.25x from Almighty, the large one takes 2x from Almighty), and Elizabeth (2x from the opposite element of her currently equipped persona). ------------------ 39:00 - You're not getting unlucky here. Holy Arrow (Lovers version) has 100 Hit (meaning it skips accuracy checks), 100 Crit (meaning it always crits if able, only attack in the game like this btw), and 100 Charm (meaning it will always Charm if at all possible) ------------------ 47:00 - Fun fact: there's a number of places in the game's own files where it is literally called "Monado" ------------------ 1:41:30 - This is true... in the context of the main character. Junpei's "Balmung" and Aigis's "Pandemonium" have the same effect to ignore resistances when attacking with them ------------------ 1:57:35 - There's a lot that goes into your odds for MM, but the best achievable is somewhere around 1 in 180 using Beelzebub with the right inherited skills

Late to the upload but one of the reasons Tanaka is one of my favorite social links is because of a glitch speedrunners use in the original and FES version of Persona 3. Tanaka's social link was unique because you had to pay him off, and then on the next night, his link would automatically activate and pass time when it ended. Hilariously, you can set this up the final day before you scale Tartarus to Nyx Avatar, and the link will still play out normally. What happens the day after you do that? ...You beat the game. No Nyx fight or final Tartarus climb required, it just sends you straight to the final cutscenes. It's a very funny exploit, my friends and I call it 'Tanaka saves the world'. Obviously they patched it in the remake and psp, but I did it myself when I replayed the original. Peak Tanaka moment

Fyi, Priestess kind of does have a weakness. It's what I call a pseudo-weakness. She takes double damage from fire, though it doesn't actually show as weak or give a One More. A lot of enemies in modern Persona have pseudo-weaknesses and resistances, especially in P4G.

Fun fact: on the portable version of the game, Fuuka actually has an equiped weapon! And it is none other than her BARE HANDS. Yes the attack and accuracy is just limited to 1, but that didn't stope the community from memeing on the fact that if it came down to it, Fuuka will throw hands with whoever gets in her way and that the reason she hasn't laid Akihiko out on the boxing ring is because of weight class differences.

Also, funny tidbit, I was today years old when I found out that Revolver Jesus' Persona was named Hypnos (yes, I never really knew/looked it up, despite playing this game like 8 times in my life). Just a heads up if you play the other Persona games. Saying exactly what your social links want to hear only gets you the most points in 3. Whilst in 4 and 5 you tend to get more points saying what they need to hear. (Consequence of Persona 3 being the first one with social links)
