Just bought one of these. It kills! Mine has SSV pickups and is a heavy relic surf green. I already have a Suhr Pete Thorn Signature with the Thornbuckers. (Great pickups for sure!)

I pretty much agree. This was my goto/travel guitar when I needed just one, for three years. Missed a trem bar in some occasions, so I acquired a pre-owned PRS DGT. About the same versatility, with a trem bridge.

I have a Reverend that is my favorite with a bigsby and two p90s. They have this bass roll off switch that makes it super versatile where I can use it too add a bit more depth and low end to my sound or pull back when I want cleaner tones

Currently, my favorite is my Novo Serus J. It’s not necessarily the most do-it-all guitar, but it plays and sounds amazing. I will say, I used to have an alt-t pro, and out of all the guitars I let go, that one haunts me.

Oh man oh man. I want a Novo Serus J so badly. I've contemplated selling one of my Suhrs to save up for a Novo. One of my "haunting" guitars is a Veritas Texas Miracle I sold. That thing SANG unplugged and I added a Bigsby to it too.

I love mine in vintage white (2017). Did you notice any patina on pickup covers? Did you (how) clean it away? Thanks!

They have some patina gathering on the tops of the pickups but I've never tried cleaning them!

Awesome demo! I’ve been looking into getting a Les Paul, but there is a local guy who has one of these up for sale in my price range. What do you think? How is the sustain? I have a Modern Player thinline with P90s that I really like, which makes me think the Suhr might be better. The MP has a mahogany body and a Gibson-style control layout though. Also, just wanted to say, I really appreciate you playing some riffs from well known songs. It helps me understand the guitar’s tone so much better than a jam or improv section.

Ugh! I’m debating whether to sell my Suhr JM to get an Alt-T. I can’t justify another guitar purchase to my SO (significant other), the limited run at Humbucker Music is what has caught my eye recently. They look so good!

Ordered mine yesterday...and also got a Suhr Classic S Antique SSS, Classic s Antique HSS (my #1), a Suhr Classic T Antique (current #2 for gigs) and a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul with Suhr Thornbuckers =D =D You can`t go wrong with Suhr guitars.

My Classic Antique S (SSS) with V63s is my #1 strat. Also have Custom Classic S with 3 Thornbuckers (w/ splitting). I also have a Classic T with an SSV in the neck. It's really nice for jazz/blues. I will say that the bridge pickup really has a nice "snap and sparkle" without being obnoxiously bright. Ironically, it works really well through a Rectifier...without a boost! (defying the unwritten rule that thou shalt always use a boost into a Rectifier 😊)

Hey Skull kid! I own the Helix and a Kemper and it depends a bit on what you want. I think the Fractal is killer too but I'd go any of those routes or the Quad Cortex. Personally, I think the Helix is killer and has some awesome sounds but amp tone (compared to the Kemper) falls short. However, the Kemper effects fall short of the Helix. Fractal is a killer platform with better amp tones than the Helix and similar effects to the Kemper. I like the portability of the Helix a lot and having the backpack is beyond convenient. It's actually made me want to sell my Kemper head to get a stage for easier transportation.

I agree with what *Zach* said about the Helix, whilst the amp tones aren’t the best, you can get IRs from Tone Junkies or Worship Tutorials and get it to sound better. That’s what I’ve done and I love my Helix, I’ve received tons of compliments about how my tone sounds.

Do you still own Suhr JM? That’s my favorite now. I also have Les Paul with TBs, American Strat with Triple Shots and Mexican Tele with Cremas. All are single coily except Les Paul which is still too dark for me. Probably would be wise to get rid of Les Paul to fund Alt T. Tele body should provide more definition than LP?

Hey Romanukas! I wish I still had my JM. I installed Cremas in it and really regret selling it but I did sell it to get my Classic S and that is a killer guitar too. I have historically found LP difficult (for me) to bond with and have always been dark for my preferences. I think having a chambered body and choosing a wood like swamp ash will really help brighten up that sound a bit. The Alt T is incredibly and I've never struggled to get good tone out of it!

@@ZachBrobstMusic so far the pros: super light, great fit and finish, very playable. The cons : lacks a little bit of character (hence the pickups swap considering), the poly finish on the body is a bit sticky, the neck is actually quite slim for my taste but it's by no mean too slim.

How can you achieve the split bridge? Did you modify the 5 way selector?

Hey Alessandro! The Alt T has a 5 way super switch with the 2/4 positions being the outside coils of the neck and bridge pickup.

@@ZachBrobstMusic I have one, but mine has this wiring: - Bridge Humbucker - Bridge Split and Neck Split Combined - Bridge Humbucker and Neck Humbucker Combined - Neck Split - Neck Humbucker The bridge is split only with neck added. A great funky tone, but I miss the bridge itself. I'd prefer a mini toggle like PRS

Hey Zach, do you find your Alt T to be slightly neck heavy? I find mine tends to dive a bit (not terrible) when I play standing up. I chalk it up to the semi-hollow body and relatively heavier locking tuners

Yes I definitely notice that with my but I assume it's due to the semi hallow body.

Now I’m debating whether to sell my 335 for this or not. I love my 335 but the weight, not so much, normally I see Alt-T specs they’re around 7lbs.

They're super light - partially because of the swamp ash bodies and semi hollow construction. A little top heavy, though, where it feels like the neck outweighs the body slightly

I actually did have Cremas in this guitar for a while and sonically they're super similar to the Thornbuckers. Ended up getting another guitar with Cremas so I put the Thornbuckers back in this guitar!

what have you struggled with about the Thornbuckers? I enjoy them since they have a bit more output and PAF sound & compression than the Cremas but that may be what you dislike about them and if so then swapping is worth it! @@zacnelms802
