Now this is the one we’ve been waiting for- this guitar seems an absolutely perfect fit for you in every way (and of course is a fantastic guitar!) and you seem totally at one with it which is always an awesome thing to experience and for us to watch and hear the playing results - fantastic stuff man!

It gets super mean right!! It's one of those odd instances where a "do it all" guitar doesn't have anything it's weak at. Everything really does sound awesome from funky cleans to that kinda gain on the bridge.

Love this demo! I'll need to send this to my other guitarist who recently got a Suhr! But honestly, at this point, I think supporting smaller brands is the way to go. I've been feeling the bite for a Flying V, but I'm going to be getting one through Maybach again than get a Gibson. Can't wait for that Suhr S demo!

I will say this, I am having a really hard time figuring out whether I prefer the Alt T or the Classic S more... I think it's more of a numbers 1 and 1A in this scenario. I am going to try to not play nearly as much F brand stuff on youtube and give them anymore free advertising anymore and these guitars make that a very, very easy proposition.

Very nice, so good you bought it twice ! It's good to move away from the big manufacturers once in a while. There's a lot of great kit out there that often goes mostly unnoticed, or just gets skipped as a first choice over the 'safer' options.
@AudiomoMusic3 ай бұрын
I think at this point it's safe to say the best options are away from the two biggest manufacturers 9 times out of 10
@frankenstein4106Ай бұрын
I've got the Alt T in 3 tone burst with the rosewood board. Unbelievable fit and finish. I would say playing it is like driving a high end sports car, while playing a Gibson or Fender would be like driving an older American muscle car. I did have to get a hard case for mine, I don't like gig bags.
@AudiomoMusicАй бұрын
that's a perfect analogy. I feel the same way about core PRS but the Alt T is more of my original thing as I've always been a Fender guy. It's unbelievable how great this guitar is, awesome you have one too

Hahaha loved that ending!!!! I have finally tried a Suhr guitar myself recently, after a few years just hearing about them online - it was a Suhr Modern HH, and it was absolutely effortless to play! Personally wouldn't pay so much for a single guitar (I would get an used one at best), and I am pretty happy with my current arsenal, but there was absolutely nothing wrong to point about that guitar, really good one. This actually made me question: based on all your experience, what would you say of the more 'budget' options would come closer to that quality feel of a Suhr? Personally, I am really enjoying a Schecter Nick Johnston signature I found used, and was surprised when trying a Sire S7 (really nice neck and rolled edges), and also curious about the HB ST Modern Plus, once it comes back in stock!
@AudiomoMusic3 ай бұрын
I wouldn't put the HB in the same universe as the Suhr haha. The most consistent guitars I've found that can be had under a grand and similar to the Suhrs I would say are Fender Japan Hybrid ii line. The quality, materials, and playability of those really is something considering the price you just won't get SS frets or a compound radius spec wise.
@andrewkrodel79763 ай бұрын
One thing that you didn’t mention is I’m sure the neck is made from a beautiful piece of quartersawn maple which is standard for the alt-t. My next guitar is going to be a Suhr.

I've always heard really good things about Suhr. I guess I never really considered getting one because while they're top notch as far as the nuts and bolts go, they always just looked too plain to me. I'm sure the feeling of playing one is euphoric, but I don't think I'd ever look at one on a stand and lust after it. I wish they'd just get out there a little with their styling.
@AudiomoMusic3 ай бұрын
For me I actually embrace the fact they aren't so over the top in the looks department for the most part. They certainly have some insane looking finishes and neck options but the majority of the line is a little more subtle which kinda fits my style a bit more
@SteveHubbardGuitar2 ай бұрын
Yooo. The hard-shell case is an option when you place an order. I have one, and it's completely useless. I have to place my Modern in another case every time it leaves my condo. To each their own!
@AudiomoMusic2 ай бұрын
Yeah but for $3500 it’s sad that it’s not standard because it should be. this is the best guitar I’ve gotten this year imo and the mediocre bag doesn’t do it justice.
@SteveHubbardGuitar2 ай бұрын
@ I get that, but forcing customers to pay the extra cost for a case that they may not even use doesn’t seem like the solution. They don’t use the cheaper style plastic cases which comes with a Fender AM pro. The whole idea of the ‘pro series’ from Suhr was to reduce the cost for customers. If you’re ordering custom you choose when you do the build.
@AudiomoMusic2 ай бұрын
Look I love this guitar, but no amount of mental gymnastics is going to convince me a $3500 guitar has any business coming in anything other than a proper hard shell case I don't care what the brand is. It shouldn't be an option, it should be the standard. For guitars like the S2 PRS line I'm more understanding of it in an effort to reduce costs for both the manufacturer and the customer as they have a higher standard production tier but with these guitars... yeah it sucks there's no two ways about it. All that being said that's genuinely the only negative thing I have to say about it. I'm using a G&G from a different guitar when I take it out that fits it perfectly.
