Suhr V60LP Pickup Demo/Impressions

Here's a quick demo of the Suhr V60LP Neck & Middle pickups! I'm playing these Suhr pickups in my Kiesel Custom Delos along with the awesome S5W-HSS wiring harness from 920D Custom that allows me to run the single coils so they "see" 250K and my bridge humbucker "sees" 500K. The 920D harness also has a treble bleed circuit, top-quality wiring, and Pure Tone output jack.
Here's the v60LP Pickup description from Suhr:
"The V60 and V60LP pickups faithfully recreate the classic single-coil sounds of the 60’s. These pickups also use the same magnets that were used in the pickups made during this era. What you get are clear bell-like highs, warm and punchy mids, and big yet firm lows that are the hallmark of great vintage pickups. The V60LP pickup is wound using a proprietary winding process that replicates the hand-wound pattern of some early-60’s single-coil pickups which have a natural roll off on the top end, imparting sweeter and rounder highs."

Beautiful playing and a great demo of these pickups! Exactly what I needed! I'm about to buy a Suhr guitar with these pickups and I was afraid they might not have enough high end sparkle - The amp I used to demo them isn't as bright as my own. But having heard your demo I am confident they will be just what I want!

Kiesel should use these pickups(or any other decent brand) as options for all their guitars. Their pickups are mediocre at best. Nice video!

Kiesel will actually install anything you want in there for an additional cost. I’m still very happy with the V60 LP, awesome pickups. To be fair, I actually really liked Kiesel’s beryllium pickups as well. Really nice single coil sound, just not exactly what I was going for.

Haha I must say they’re brighter than I expected being that they’re “low peak”. Granted I am using a guitar that has a pretty bright combination of woods, Alder body, burl maple top, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. What was your impression? Did they sound brighter than you’d have expected?

Great playing but these pups have that ice pick high that i cant gel with. Much prefer a rounder strat AO tone

Thanks! The ice pick high end is partially due to the amp model I was using which was a Marshall Plexi 50W 6550. It is a very bright amp. In my experience it can sound overly bright when playing solo but in the context of a band or track the tone sits in the mix really nicely.

Sounds pretty ideal for a single coil! I wish the Suhr website had more specifics about the tone of each pickup. Dimarzio’s website is really helpful with their output rating and visual representation of bass, mid, treble.
