Fully agree with the opinions here, had the (now discontinued) 920D Andy Timmons pickguard and felt the neck pickup gave the strings a "rubbery" sound. Works amazing for high gain though vs a hot single coil, where the noise can be overwhelming even with a gate during sustained notes. So far, Lace sensor is king with the noiseless stuff, especially since they're 2 conductor and technically "true" single coils. They still sound a little plastic on clean settings (the emerald might be the most realistic of the bunch) but under gain they are superior in every way.

Thanks for the comment, so glad it was helpful! Lately I’ve been getting more extreme with my IEM guitar EQ. Crazy as it my sound I’ve been doing a low cut up to about 180, even 200hZ and high cut down to 4.5K. It’s has helped tremendously with clarity in a big mix. That said there are 9 in my band so your mileage may vary.

Can't The Cruiser be split?
@ColinGaileyGuitarАй бұрын
Good question. Yes it can but I found it lost too much volume. Wasn’t able to get the output balanced with other positions. It sounds fantastic in parallel with an actual single coil!

they're similar, really, but not equal. I have both on my strats. Texas Specials cut a bit above on the highs... noiseless are very balanced and you still can achieve any sounds. I would favor the Texas for hot sounds, and choose the noiseless to play anything low down and mellow.

I've been struggling with getting realistic tones in my IEMs, and Google brought me to this video. It's somewhat ironic that you're sitting there playing what looks like a badass Kiesel-- I have one myself and have been playing Carvin guitars since 1985. Great video, very helpful! 🤘😎

Colin, I never owned a Kiesel until you got your Delos and released the first video...I fell in love with them and mine is now my favorite go to guitar ever...you are an expensive guy to follow , I have since bought two more Delos', a 550 and a Bolt. I play the Delos 90% of the time and planned on taking only Kiesels for tour dates this summer (I now have some Knaggs and Suhrs for sale.) . BTW...Thanks!!

@ColinGaileyGuitar4 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for your comment! I did not have a dummy coil for the Texas Special pickups. I may go down that road at some point but for live performances I’m pretty set with the Hot Noiseless.
@JediCrackSmoke4 ай бұрын
@@ColinGaileyGuitar Thanks for you reply! IMO the Texas Specials blew the noiseless out of the water in your video, in fact, it's what motivated me to go with them for the neck and middle pickups in my 2017 HSS American Elite Strat. The noiseless just lack a soul by comparison, and I'm coming from originally having Noisless IV's and later Dimarzio Area 58's for the last few years.

Which cruiser model do you have in the neck and middle position? A Cruiser Bridge or Neck version?
@ColinGaileyGuitar5 ай бұрын
In this video it’s the bridge version of the Cruiser in the neck position. I’ve since switched to the actual neck version paired with 250K pots. I’m happier with the tones, much closer to a traditional single coil, and I find the lows to be less flubby.

What's the amp + settings? I only have a small Marshall and no pedals!
@ColinGaileyGuitar5 ай бұрын
For most of these clips it was the either the Fender Super Reverb or Vibroverb amp models in the Fractal Audio Axe FX III. Sometimes with the addition of a tube screamer in front. The clips that had the most gain were the Friedman HBE model. For both amp models I tend to keep the gain around 5, bass very low, mids around 4, treble 6, presence 4-6. Master volume higher on Fenders, lower on the Friedman.

Right on! I must add that I ended up liking The Cruiser sound even more after pairing with 250k pots. Even more of that single coil sound I was after. I also ended up trading out the bridge version of the pickup for the actual neck model. The difference is very subtle but I really like it.

@@ColinGaileyGuitar interesting! Does it take away some of the shrillness of the bridge pickup?

I love the sound of those Hot Noiseless pickup's. I mean, well, you'd need the ears of a bat to truly tell the diff here, but without the hum? Perfect.
@ColinGaileyGuitar7 ай бұрын
