One time when I was 16 I went to a Reb beach clinic. I talked him into selling me his personal Ibanez jem 77 BFP that Steve vai just sent him the week before. He sold it to me right there on the spot,and thought me how to tap in 5 min. Remember that , when you think of Reb Beach. Dude is a humble legend, and yes I still have the Guitar. 32 years now

Saw an interview w/ him recently and he was asked if he could get one guitar back from his past, which would it be. He said it was his blue Kramer. He had said in that interview that when Winger went from selling millions of albums to selling less than 100 thousand w/ Pull, he went broke and lived off selling his guitar till the Alice Cooper gig came up.. He also said he had to borrow 500 from Alice for the plane ticket to get out there to LA for rehearsals..

I believe the color is a Ford color called “Mystic”. They used to apply it to the Mustang Cobras of around 1996 or so. Maybe a one-year only color, I think. Looks great on a electric guitar!

Saw Reb/Winger open for Deep Purple back in 1990 for their (DP's) Slaves & Masters tour and always dismissed them (Winger) as just another fluff hair-band but when I saw & heard Reb tearing up his fretboard on stage it was quite a shock. He was amazing and was doing stuff that rivaled ANY guitarist technically. I developed instant respect for him and so glad he's still out there jamming.

For the record I cut my P bass headstock that same exact shape and put on smaller sealed tuners and the p bass practically sits in a more upright angle. And stays there. Takes so much dumb weight off.
