I am really looking forward to this album, since EVH’s passing left a huge hole in hard rock. For my money, Kip and his band is one of the few out there who can keep the VH torch. (Kip and Sammy are probably the best rock singers on the planet.)

I've rediscovered Winger and gone HOG WILD!!! I was happy to pay "collector's price" for the 2007 live dvd, got ALL the records, spent all day on the website. I just read "Nothin' But a Good Time". Just like I remembered it. I've been saying that at the end of the 80s there were a few bands that were set to "redeem" the previous decades music. I can't say that aI hated "hair metal" I lived with a girl who worked for Dod McGee from the beginning ,but I was old enough to have ...well I was born in '53...saw Led Zep 2nd row center May 30, 1969, so I wasn't hearing "the good stuff" in NYC until my drummer and I were watching MTV and Winger came on and played I thing 4 songs live and BLEW US AWAY! I'm straight, but very image and fashion conscious...they were also BEAUTIFUL and Kips moves were "impossible" but true. I play bass and I LOVED the right,, then left hand off the bass while doing ballet moves was amazing. I' so happy t hear how awesome the new record is. I've been saying that "Blue Murder" was the safest casualty of grunge ( I've played harp in Cactus with Carmine Appice since 2005 ) but Winger...I could FEEL the pain when the changing of the guard came in and of all the bands to pick on, GOD! Why the BEST one? You were so OBVIOUSLY going to just keep pumping out masterpieces....and you DID! One thing, Kip...DON'T apologize for being "Foofy" as Reb I think said. I was DEFINITELY foofy...that was maybe the best thing about the decade...FLASH, GLAM!...l though I was copying Johnny Thunders. We don't hate you for being beautiful and you've all aged so well. I actually opened for you in NYC around 2014? ...and I did a national tour opening for Dream Theater and Dixie Dregs in my band Star People probably 2000. I hope to see you live sometime soon. I wish that I'd kept up with you all along and seen the band. Right now, my brain is chock full of Winger from listening to all 7 albums and the live dvd for over a week.

That was an amazing look at the equipment that makes the magic!! One heck of a learning experience!! It shows you don't need a ton of stuff to make great music! Mike Shipley was quite the talent. I love how you’ve boiled it down to what works for you and let the other stuff move on. I’m in the process of building my personal recording studio and I’m trying to maintain this thought process so that I only buy the things that I need for MY sound. I’m coming to the conclusion that a good 1073 pre and an 1176 comp going in is about all you need in a small overdubbing and mixing room which is mostly what I do. Great to see the “less is more” approach being used by pros!

It's interesting that I have a piece of history, legal history, between Spector and Warwick. I have the bass that caused a lawsuit between Spector and Warwick. The end result was Warwick had to pay a fee until Spector was sold to Kramer. The bass that caused it all is a 1984 Streamer Stage I NT Masterbuilt Spector NS, serial number 4. It is the last bass with the ornate mother of pearl art work, the Spector shaped head stock, the NS shape and the one piece bridge like Spector's NS. That bass will be handed down to our kids one day.

Kip, I loved winger back in the 80s and such a shame that one ridiculous show ruined Winger but the fans like us have always stood by your side. Truth is your real and true musicians.
