Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so sorry for your loss. My 1st husband, my daughter's father shot and killed himself when I was 23 and our daughter was 1 years old. I'm now 56, and I still am affected by it.

I moved down south a few years back, bought a house for mom and I, have felt total depression and misery since having issues with a woman who I considered would be the right one. I have also mentioned to mom that we should get a gun for our protection. Now I understand why she says no.

I have listned to countless relatives of suicides and it seems most are male and most are esp. smart, honor role, into sports, have lots of friends and are the life of the party. So what is it about being so intelligent and doing well in sports etc. that makes some of these boys/men suicidal?
