Austin and Mitch use a completely different scream stylistically. Austin wasn't trying to mimic Mitch's sound, he was doing it in his own style. That's what people don't understand about a COVER, it's not a Karaoke, you're not trying to recreate the original. You're doing it in your own special way.

He's a fry scream vocalist. He doesn't have the proper range to perform the song the way it was intended. Everyone's saying he's shitty because he couldn't perform a frikkin suicide silence song??? That doesn't mean he's shitty. It means he didn't train himself for that genre. Its like saying that usher is a shitty singer because he couldn't perform impending doom. ...uh no? He's still a pretty good singer. He just doesn't know how to scream. He's still accomplished in his genre. Same rule applies here.

I hate how everyone is comparing the two vocalists! Guys, come on! They both have different voices and techniques, it shouldn't sound like the original! Austin isn't Mitch, Mitch isn't Austin. Austin is doing this for his friend that died. Maybe his voice choked up from trying to hold back tears, who knows? But this is for Mitch. And even if it is "bad" as some of you say, do you really think Mitch would have cared? I believe he's more than happy that one of his best friends is doing the song.

I could hear the echo when he goes to the “I can’t sleep” part of the song. Very nice! Like everyone in this memorial performing, you feel intense emotion from the scream and music.

To all the hateful pieces of shit commenting on this video, Just remember this is Mitch's Memorial show. Austin Carlile is his own person so is everyone else that was on stage for him that night. You guys should just appreciate that bands did this for Mitch. People that are screaming on stage wont sound like they do in their videos because they are edited. Everyone to me sounds amazing up on stage especially sense they have to use a lot of muscles to do that shit. Have some respect people. Mitch was probably head banging along on stage to all of these people that were willing to travel, and sing his music for his fans.

Stop acting like you are experts about this. The band chose Austin for this so it means he's pretty good at it and he did his best. He wasn't trying to imitate Mitch so stop comparing them! Enjoy

The only reason these vocals "Suck" are because Austin's vocals are nowhere near suited for something this heavy. He is a metalcore vocalist, not a deathcore one. And it sounds as if he strained the fuck out of his throat for this, so for something out of his comfort zone - he did good.

shadowsangheili No, the "core" stands for hardcore, so Deathcore stands for Death Metal Hardcore, and Metalcore is just Metal Hardcore

I vividly remember Of Mice And Men literally wiping the floor with everyone on warped tour when they were doing the flood songs live. No one was even close to them when it came to stage presence. Carlile was their secret weapon. Then I saw them blow BMTH out of the water on the american dream tour. Carlile knew how to work a crowd.

everyone who hates on Austin because of how he sounds in this, you disgust me because this cover and the others from this show weren't really meant to fucking impress anyone or to 'be better than Mitch's vocals'. They were all covering Suicide Silence's songs in remembrance of Mitch when he died. This was the "Mitch Lucker Memorial Show", so shut your mouths, because i appreciate them for this. Mitch and Austin were close, as were many of the others who performed at this show. This whole show was beautiful and I wish I could have been there.

Austin killed it. This man never ceases to amaze me. Also, this was a charity to raise money for Mitch's daughter's education and a memorial for him. Who the fuck cares if Austin or anyone else performing in this concert sounds like Mitch or not. This concert was for him, his daughter and his family. No one will ever sound like Mitch, nor be on his level, this is just members of different bands paying their respects to Mitch and his family. Every single person that performed in this memorial show did fantastic. Mitch had a lot of people that cared about him, not just family, friends and fans but a lot of other bands too. He touched a lot of people's lives and even saved some too. Rest In Peace Mitch, we miss you man.
