I'm not even that huge of a Joker fan, but they literally took the one character whose entire thing is being a sporadic agent of chaos thats impossible to keep down, and put him on a leash. If there's anything Joker hates, it's people having some any form of control. That's the entire reason he's never been an official part of the Suicide Squad. It completely goes against everything people love about the character. Edit: For those saying it's an alternate version, that doesn't change the fact that it's a complete misrepresentation of what the character is supposed to stand for. It's still Joker at the end of the day. When you make an alternate version, you still need to keep some traits of the original if you want people to accept it's meant to be someone they're familiar with.

It's so annoying. Thing is if it doesn't flop you got a straight up gold mine for a decade. So they are willing to keep trying no matter the failures with hope of hitting. Main problem is they are trying to shove live service models into game designs that don't mesh with it. Like all these superhero ones or others that would be much better and make much more sense as a normal story driven single-player one and done. Even games that aren't live service have elements of them now that don't aid the game at all. Like crafting or rarity loot in stuff like Hogwarts. STOP IT. Not sure how Steam reviews work but it's common to delete "troll" reviews. Basically if there's a mass amount of negative reviews on a movie or game sometimes they claim its inauthentic trolling and delete them. On the surface that sounds OK, sometimes stuff does get mass trolled in a disingenuous way. But in reality it's just them going through deleting negative reviews so 🤷. Not sure if that happens on Steam though. If not I assume it's positive because only the people who like those kinds of games bought it. As in, not very many. But they liked it enough apparently.

Eh, mostly positive is Steam's version of a 6/10. When looking past the controversies and microtransactions the game at the end of the day is another Destiny/The Division clone. The game is mid but it's a genre that has its niche fans, and lo and behold, you do have those Destiny types that do, in fact, defend the game. It's like how MMO's as a genre will get you stink eyes by tons of people but has a massive following and its grindy and skinner box nature makes it that if you like one trash MMO you've gotten a taste of all of it.

I was tired of The Joker way back, in the Arkham games. He was always the final villain that Batman has to beat. So if this season is just "you can play as The Joker" then no, thank you.

I don't know what's more depressing: The fact that "AAA" gaming companies are making garbage and selling it at $70+ or the fact that gamers still have any faith in these "AAA" gaming companies to deliver something other than mediocre-at-best shovelware. This is what the term “freemium” was created for. An aspect of gameplay that is “free” through the act of grinding for it, but can also be acquired directly and immediately through paying money - in what studios would typically describe as the “premium option” in a free-to-play title. Don’t ever let yourself be tricked whenever a big corporation labels an update as free. There is a difference between content patches and updates that are truly free, and things that are a freemium deal.

Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure are my favorite duology in all of JRPGs and for me, the best character in it is Arios MacLaine. I waited for so long to hear how he’d sound in an english dub and when Reverie came out, I was smiling from ear to ear. His voice was EVERYTHING I wanted from such an amazing character. Then Suicide Squad came out and in my search for coverage of it I found this channel. How you’ve managed to become one of my go-to game news sources and voiced one of my favorite characters in one of my favorite games I can’t even understand, but I just wanted to say thanks. Asking "what went fron behind the scenes" is a question that has a very obvious answer. Warner bros wanted a live service and forced a singleplayer only studio to make it. Much like Avengers they took teams that has no business being anywhere near these games and forced them to do it

This game wasn't made by the same team as the Arkham games. Rocksteady's OG developers jumped ship when they were being pressured by WB Games to make this game and to make it a live service. So you got a new team of developers (probably many fresh out of school) and a monster legacy and expectations to follow. Add in a woefully under talented writing team "assisted" by activist company Sweet Baby Inc. and you get this end result. A game that lost tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars.

In comparison fortnite just brought Midas back, there’s a few new story quests, a cutscene announcing his arrival, a tournament to earn the skin early and for free, and an exclusive LTM to play that’s themed after him. Fortnite gives more respect to its iconic characters than Suicide Squad.

Not the most experienced when it comes to the free to play/live service vs single player game debate but with current game trends like the already successful Elden Ring getting great amounts of hype for just the trailer for the DLC and with Suicide Squad already considered a flop within 1 week or less of it’s launch, why is WB trying to double down with the free to play games and instead get Rocksteady to make something like the Batman Arkham games? Especially after season 1 being called awful, but with Coyote vs ACME and the whole cartoon purge a few years ago that had the creator of Infinity Train having to put the entire show for free through google drive out of fear for it becoming deleted, WB hasn’t been really having a ton of good decisions recently.

They really dropped the ball. If they were introducing the joker, they definitely should’ve had cool story missions where you’re trying to track down the joker and the squad stops various crimes of his. Then you fight him in a boss battle midway and then the new brainiac comes around to cause trouble, and then you team up with the joker to Defeat, the new brainiac, or God forbid a new villain. The storyline with the Joker created a lot of opportunities for a lot of dramatic events, especially between him and Harley Quinn.
