No no, guys, that tonally incongruous song at the end of RoP s2 ep4 is much worse than you think. It's actually not some generic pop song with an orchestral element - it's straight-up the song that Tom Bombadil sings to himself in the original Fellowship of the Ring book after the four hobbits meet him. The showrunners ripped it right out of Tolkien's writings and turned it into end credits music. Their version even has the part where Tom sings about how his coat is dark blue and his rubber boots are yellow, which is obviously nothing at all like the way they portrayed him onscreen in this episode. It makes me SO MAD that they had the GALL to use an actual poetic song that Tolkien himself wrote when their interpretation and depiction of the character for which it was written was so bastardized in his portrayal in their show. Reason number 10^27 to hate The Rings: The Rings.

The best example of how little people care about the characters in RoP.: They literally killed off one of the most "important" characters from season 1, off screen with a hand-wave explanation, and nobody even really bothers to talk about it, it's just a "Oh, well that happened I guess" side note... While I don't even remember her name, there's no way you could convince me that Lemonlas' girlfriend wasn't being set up to be a pivotal character going forward. yet now she's dead and already forgotten.

Terry Pratchett did it in the Discworld novels back along as well. Ghenghiz Cohen, known as Cohen the Barbarian, usually looking for his dentures and soft toilet paper whilst murdering everything in sight, pretty sure the paperback cover on the edition I bought as soon as it released had one of the Silver Horde in a wheelchair waving an axe - they are all in their 80's and 90's by that point. Force Healing was a thing in the Old Republic and I believe specialized Jedi Counselors could do it but the thing is you have to be dedicated, trained, specialized, and have a special ability or talent to channel the force in such a way to be a force healer it wasn't something anyone can do even among most force users and it had its limitations. However Disney probably just saw "Force Healing" from the Old Republic and the EU and butchered it so any force user could be one making it less significant and special and breaking more continuity by having it so prevalent all of a sudden.

I wonder if the show runners really want to subvert everyone's expectations, and have the Dark Wizard be Gandalf, and meteor man is actually Saruman. Then Saruman defeats Dark Gandalf and wipes his memory, curing him of evil. Stupid yes, but par for the course with this show. As for the stars, and not-Gandalf looking for constellations different from those he saw when he landed. To do that, you need to go south, not east. The southern constellations ARE different from the northern ones, as Tolkien knew when he wrote Aragorn saying he traveled to the south in far Harad, where the stars are strange. The writers of this show took those words of Aragorn's, didn't understand them, and used them as a plotline that made no sense.

2:13:20 been saying this for sooo long, let the Predator have a damn win! instead we got Prey where he's getting his ass kicked by a short girl who he ignores the whole movie because she's not considered a threat; would've made sense to have the whole tribe unite against him, but then we couldn't have a girlboss front and center, can't believe some people praise that movie, it's certainly a way more decent version of what we got in the past, like The Predator, which was horrifically bad, but praising Pray and calling it best since the original is baffling to me.

It would depend upon when you set it. Setting it in the Cretaceous would let him fight Tyrannosaurus Rex. If you set it in the Pliocene he could fight Neanderthals

On the discussion of Predator films and Space Ice's suggestion that the Predator can't just keep losing, well how about the climax of the movie is just the last survivor(s) escaping from the island where the Predator is hunting? Echo Chamberlain is right: There's so much potential for this thing, and yet they squander it. To be fair, I didn't mind Predators, although I thought that how bigger, badder Predator thing was stupid.
