Tbh, they should’ve done a Teen Titans Kill The Justice League instead. Get Nightwing, Wonder Girl, Superboy, Kid Flash, Starfire, Aqualad, Raven and Beastboy having to kill the JL, and not just these little numbers of the JL team get Aquaman, Cyborg and Green Arrow etc on it too so it can be evenly matched. Now that would’ve had a much bigger impact on the story. It would’ve made much more sense to see these powerful characters face off against their very own mentors. The fact that it’s the Suicide Squad who gets to kill these characters is a joke. There was absolutely no emotional impact when these characters died. It was all just fun and laughs. It’s like they were making fun of these DC characters, not to mention Harley’s absolutely stupid cringe morale speech she gave Batman criticizing HIM and making herself the victim when she’s been a literal psychopath for the past few years. It’s bad writing. They tried to make us feel bad for Harley. These characters have no special connection to these characters. For a game where you have to kill off beloved characters this game really feels like a joke. A Titans vs JL game would’ve been better or a much better written SS vs JL game would suffice. Remember the old studio ditched this game for a reason, they knew this game was gonna be shit and they weren’t rocking with it

Im 9 hrs in & honestly been enjoying my time with the game a lot. It feels like a nice mix of Sunset overdrive & crackdown with a solid loot system.. ive played alot of looter style games good & bad.. this is much better than alot of them imo including the avengers & gotham knights..smooth 60 fps with neat social squad mechanics & the game is fun enough to play & grind. No battle pass shoved in your face day 1 which was a good move.. idk feel like im in the minority for just enjoying a solid looter shooter game instead of all the suffocating hate around it...

In total agreement with you. I think the standout for me is that 30 second loop, I can't think of any looter shooter that does that better. I'll have to wait and see how it pans out of 20/30+ hrs but right now I'm hooked

Man I'm with you. I frankly don't believe this game deserves the initial reaction. From what I know, the hate all comes from killing Batman and honestly, I'm fine with that because the game is a blast and I'm partial on the story. lets not forget all the post launch content we've been told about, if people don't like the current story, then there is some very different content coming. Usually I don't get into gaming drama, but for this I'm taking a stand. I can't stand the suffocating hate. Every major issue I see that people have is either arbitrary or is the same complaint about the premise of killing the justice league (specifically Batman) which i think is unfair. Granted the idea of it being in the Arkhamverse was a miscalculation on how they thought the fans would react, and I think its given people the wrong expectation. This is not a Batman Arkham game, this is a Suicide Squad game, based on what the Suicide Squad would do in this situation, not about what sad fans would do. Your playing characters in a story, not trying to give Batman a respectful send off. I love the Arkham games, don't get me wrong, but there wasn't anymore they could do with the character, especially with Kevin's passing. Dont hate on the game because of that. If your going to hate on it, actually break down the story in depth, examine the characters, good or bad. Examine the environment. And for heaven's sake, we knew it was a looter shooter with live service, except that that is what this game is going for and stop judging it for not being the genre you wanted. Play the game, if you like the gameplay, then its worth playing at least for the post launch content.

Exactly, judge the game on what it is, not what you want it to be. I just beat it and I think they did a pretty great job with it on the whole. I'm going to jump into the end game and see how it shakes out then do a review. And of course, Suicide Squad is suffering from the same thing TLOU2 did - "I think the story is disrespectful to a character I love so I'm going to throw my toys of the pram"

To me the gameplay was good but the story was extremely mediocre and the character deaths were also extremely underwhelming there’s no death cutscenes for anyone other than wonder woman and Batman they literally just drop dead in game as soon as the health depletes its very weird and underwhelming as well as the final boss fight is just a flash boss reskin really? That was very disappointing. They also leave a lot of context out of the game and put it in obscure audio tapes like why? People want to know exactly how brainiac got control of the justice league in the first place and we get no forward explanation you have to dig for it in audio tapes that’s so stupid to me I literally didn’t even know how it happened until I looked it up and found out it was in audio tapes. It’s literally the biggest question anyone is going to have when playing the game and they put it in an audio tape that’s ridiculous. So the game was mediocre at best gameplay was good story was terrible. I also do agree the hate is insane people were hating before the game even came out it’s such miserable behavior. I had hope because it was rocksteady and I always want to give a game a fair shake but unfortunately the story to me specifically was very disappointing

And as a looter shooter it’s probably the worst I’ve seen. If I had to give it a level it would be worse than anthem. They’re way too generous with the legendaries, the legendaries themselves don’t feel legendary they just do more damage than their common counterpart. And there’s not really any farms for weapons outside of the loot box you get after every mission so you’re basically praying to rng Jesus for a gun you want. There’s no reason to farm cause again legendaries don’t much. There’s no rarity above legendary to hunt for. Yeah this is probably the worst looter shooter I have ever had the displeasure of seeing

In defense of the critics, this is a game where you go around like a creeper violently executing all the DC hero characters you have been fans of for your entire life while having your wallet continuously drained by a greedy company filled with political activists who hate you. The game so far seems complete, never pushing you to buy any MTX and all post launch content is free Fair enough if you don't like the way the story went but why not explore something different. We've spent the 4 Arkham games fighting the villains so why not flip it on its head?

@@AdziGaming It is not a narrative, it's literally the business model; the whole point of a live service game is to get money out of you continuously after the initial point of purchase. If you don't believe me, I challenge you never to buy a single microtransaction for this game. Once you do that, you will see that the game is designed in very subtle ways to push you to spend money on microtransactions or your gameplay experience will suffer in comparison to other gamers that buy them. If it did not do this, the model would not actually serve a purpose by being in the game. Your point is fair though in that it is not just this game that does it (so did Marvel's Avengers and many other very popular games). And I had no problem playing arcade games as a kid which were all play to pay experiences (of course, I didn't realize the games were being deliberately designed to steal my quarters back then).

I've played The Division, Destiny 1&2, Diablo 4, Outriders, Marvel Avengers and plenty more looter shooters/ARPGs and maybe at the very very end hardcore players it feels like you're being squeeze, but I genuinely have never felt the need to buy MTX in any of them games outside of major expansions (which I don't mind paying for). From what I can see the MTX in Suicide Squad are just cosmetic so I don't see how the game could subtly push me towards buying skins

@@AdziGaming If you have played a lot of these games and like them, then I can see why you would like this one too. I do think you are right in that they aren't doing anything with the microtransactions that other companies haven't already done; I can imagine if you are fine with it in other games you will be fine with it here too. I think the negativity is probably a little bit more for this game because 1) prior Arkham games in the series were not looter shooters, and 2) they executed the main character from that series. It does seem like a Last of Us 2 situation where they did this to pick a fight with the fans (it would have been very easy to make a suicide squad looter shooter and just completely leave Batman out of it).

I had a ton of fun with the avengers game, tons of updates and characters to play, mind u I would have preferred a single player game but we got what we got and it was a fun game, and the justice league game is fun in similar ways. It’s a looter shooter, not a super hero game.

All this effort could’ve gone into a justice league game. The always online has already backfired as people who paid extra couldn’t access it. We’re not just looking for something to complain about, this studio made Arkham. The drop in quality from Arkham Knight to this is insane. I’m speaking my own thoughts on this, also can you tell me the deaths of the league aren’t spiteful? That the new joker looks well. There’s plenty of games that are easy to go in to after work but the Arkham series required more investment as it was better quality. A lot of strawman arguments to try and make this look better than it is.

Yes and I brought up the launch day issues - this video was more aimed at people who criticize this game over what it isn't rather than criticising it for what it is. The game is different to Arkham, the missions aren't as varied but that is inherent to the genre, but when you compare the technical quality of the game, Rocksteady proved they still have it. The writing, cutscenes and visuals are as good as the Arkham games. And the death of the Justice League is a cool premise. I like seeing risky stories that aren't afraid to annoy people. Just look at TLOU2, that game was criticized by many who never.even played it all because they didn't like the way the story panned out

I’ll play a game for It’s story and I’m a huge DC fan since the 90s and have read many comics and other media. We weren’t given what we wanted also there’s no excuse for it to perform poorly. This is part of a wider issue. There is clear antagonism by killing the justice league, there just is. No one asked for this and the way they killed them is spiteful. They literally piss on flashes dead body? The quality isn’t even good at what it’s trying to be. I hope this ends the franchise.

@@stepbysteptom Story IS important however genre is also important. Look at other looter shooters (warframe, destiny, borderlands, division) you normally don't play these for their story lol. Story is probably one of the lower reasons why someone would play these, yes its nice if its good but the CONTENT and endgame loop is what matters the most in a looter shooter. The loot, the combat, the gameplay feel, character progression, etc. Also its psychotic killers/criminals killing revered heroes whom they've hated for years and years with personal vendettas. OF COURSE there's antagonism lol. The game has issues but I just think the whole story part is overblown just because it has the DC stamp in the Arkhamverse sadly. Should it have been better? Of fucking course 100%. Is it the pile of shit people are damning it for? No.

The studio pushed that. But this follows a long line of short sighted terrible decision making at WB. Everything I’ve seen in terms of story, gameplay, missions in this is outclassed by the previous entries. Also a huge part of the fan base was excited to see Kevin Conroy. The killing of each justice league member is disgraceful. It’s clearly spearheaded by people who don’t respect the source material which unfortunately for the past 10 years has been the norm. I’ve seen the ending of this game it’s dreadful, spoiler there’s no final battle with brainiac because it’s ongoing live service. The closet game to this was the Avengers and that ruined the genre and the studio. We’re tired of stories we want not being made. We’re tired of being told we’re the problem if we don’t swallow the tripe they produce. We’re tired of heroes and positive characters being torn down and subverted.

I loved Outriders, and I think it's pretty unfair to compare a new live service game to Destiny 2 which has had years of updates. D2 at launch was pretty rough but behind it was a fun core loop that eventually was fleshed out with content updates. I think Suicide Squad has that core loop that makes it fun, I'm enjoying the end game but I don't know how long that'll last. We don't know if the roadmap content will be any good but I'm hoping it is

Do you realise that the Arkham games were also short? Asylum can be beaten in 10-12 hours on your first playthrough. I don't think campaign length equates to quality. People wanted the game to fail from the get go, but now that I've beaten it I can say that they succeeded in making a good looter shooter, again focusing on the type of game they tried to make, not one that you or other people might want it to be
