The plaintiff says she’s known the defendant since eighth grade, and the defendant even donated a kidney to the plaintiff. She claims that since then, the defendant has refused to repay several loans the plaintiff gave her. The defendant says she’s disgusted that the plaintiff is bringing her to court after she literally saved her life by giving her a kidney. She’s countersuing for emotional distress.

The kidney eventually failed and they tried to get her on the list again but by then she had some other health issues that they didn't feel she was a worthy candidate for, so I've been on this from both sides, seeing her get TWO organs donated to her then, unfortunately, having to get on dialysis for a little while before she died and the quality of life is that much better obviously without having to go to dialysis. I donated my kidney to my Aunt (not blood related, but longtime family friend that I consider family) in 2020. To this day, it was one of the MOST beautiful, blessed feelings that I have ever experienced and I have absolutely NO regrets! When you go thru the testing to be a donor (I had 23 tests in a 5 day period), one of the required steps of the process is to have a psychological exam. This is to make sure you understand the extent of being a donor. The health risks, how you would feel if the recipient doesn’t “take care” of themselves after receiving the kidney, if you’re doing it out of guilt or obligation, etc. The fact that her friend passed the psychological exam proves that she was a donor for the “right” reasons. They tell you being any type of organ donor, especially to someone you know, you cannot feel that the recipient EVER owes you anything. You should look at it as a “gift”…..something that is no longer yours per se. The fact that she was to the point of needing a transplant proves that she was quite ill and could not have survived had she not received one. With that being said, the disgusting display of self-entitlement, arrogance and blatant disrespect that this woman did, bringing her friend on national TV to TRY to humiliate her, is beyond disgusting!! That woman sacrificed her own health to do the MOST unselfish, beautiful thing a person can do….LIVING ORGAN DONATION! Not to mention, the healing process for the DONOR is more painful AND extensive than it is for the recipient! This woman is an ungrateful, self-centered, narcissistic…..KAREN! Right down to the haircut!!! To Gina (Donor)-Bless you for making such a beautiful sacrifice of being a LIVING ORGAN donor. Don’t allow this woman to steal the joy you felt, at the time of donation, for literally saving someone’s life. It’s a beautiful, blessed feeling! I was a bone marrow donor to a complete stranger. The recovery was extremely painful, plus I was down for about 3 weeks. I was living with my parents, which definitely helped out. With any surgery, you are literally risking your life and/or complications with the surgery. The plaintiff should’ve immediately communicated to her friend that all debts would be paid in full, OR she should’ve told her that she would still owe her the money even after the surgery. That way the defendant would have the opportunity to back out, since the plaintiff did have another donor option (so she said). Although there should have been communication about the money before the surgery, it was literally COLD BLOODED for that woman to take her to court over green paper, when she now has a healthy life because of this woman!!!

I think, in cases like this, to make everybody "whole," the donor should repay the loans to the recipient.* The donor should then repossess her kidney & have it transplanted back into her own body. Then the now former recipient can go and get her hair & nails done between dialysis sessions. And the now former donor can enjoy the rest of her life with her two kidneys. * the former donor could charge the exact loan amount to the former recipient for the temporary use of her kidney. So, she would walk away the winner on all counts.

No good deed goes unpunished. I have learned that implicitly just over the last year and a half. Don't lend money if you can't afford to lose it. We lent money to friends, $18,000, so that they didn't lose their house. When the husband's colon cancer returned, we forgave the debt. We have no regrets and when the husband died we were thankful that we had forgiven the loan when we did.

When a person receives a transplant and when the person donates a body part, both of their health have been further compromised. They both will have to go on with their lives and live carefully so they both don't overdo themselves physically and mentally. So when they both started yelling at each other in the court room, I was getting worried they both with have medical emergencies. With the kidney swapping, money exchanging, putting their names on car titles to get around the laws, Judge Mathis was correct to deny both of their claims and send them home. The defendant was willing to be on national television to air out her side of the story and try to win favor of the judge but at the end of the day, they both were embarrassingly placed on a pedestal for millions to see what a crying mess this situation was, and inadvertently alert the state, the police, the IRS and the transplant ethics authorities of illegal doings going on between the two ladies.

I hope to at least live 20 more years with no major health crisis that puts me on the list of ppl in need of a kidney, but if I ever need and receive a kidney, or any other organ, I wouldn't sue the person who donated said organ. I'd be grateful, and forgive any debt owed of any. How can anyone put a price tag on a life? To me, its priceless. Apparently 3,208 is what the plaintiff thought her own was worth. I honestly believe the plaintiff took advantage of a person who lacked financial means. I do believe she was offering money to less fortunate individuals in exchange for their kidney. They couldn’t admit to that illegal activity. But how else did she have people lined up to give her a kidney. She’s a vulture. Stop saving people that God has put a tag on. She looks like Kate in John and Kat Plus 8. That is why I don't give anybody anything from my body. Most people are so ungrateful, just as the plaintiff. Don't give kidneys to anybody, not even your family. The plaintiff doesn't deserve her kidney.

This is exactly why "money" should not be involve with organ transplantations, because when you involve money it become business. In Australia and NZ, no way this kind of kidney transplantations arrangement will be allowed. Organ donation should be base purely on "good deed". The kidney recipient is so ungrateful to the woman who was the donor. To be in a dialysis patient 3x/week in USA is very expensive. To have a friend that donates kidney she should be forever grateful.

I am speechless , she came in not even thanking the defendant for the kidney. If the defendant didn't mention it no one would know.. She shouldn't sue her.

Think of how much time and money the defendant saved the plaintiff, just in saved trips to have dialysis. Her gift also added years onto the friend's life. In the end, I guess the friendship turned out to be worth a measley couple thousand dollars. Pitty how little the gift of life turned out to be. She should have listened to her mom's warnings about her so called "friend." Live, learn, walk away, and don't look back.

I feel bad for the defendant. I would have forgave every debt she owed me if she gave me a kidney. Hell I wouldn’t have been alive to collect the money anyway. 😒😂
