Hm. I have to wonder if he felt like the wife wasn't being "wifey" enough. I say this bc he also mentions her having second thoughts about kids, and bc traditional spouse roles are often justified by religion. "Not being a believer anymore" in this context could mean she was turning away from the more traditional "woman" roles, or that she wanted to center her life around something that wasn't just him and potential kids. It would explain why he felt the urge to step out on and ultimately replace her

Here we are 8 years later, just bought a house (moved in THIS year) & he is jumping ship AGAIN because he says he "Can't do this." & he's too "overwhelmed" feels "trapped" & doesn't think he is actually "in love" with me & just wants to be alone. I basically let a man who ripped my heart to shreds come back to do it again because I wanted to believe he could actually change. I should've told him to be alone for a while & work on himself & figure out what he really wanted before being a rebound of a rebound!!! (our 21 year marriage anniversary is in January in case you're wondering) That's a whole lot of time wasted waiting on someone to be sure of me when he can't even be sure of himself.

@avirei9810 ай бұрын
I feel like I've had a man date me before that very reason and it sucked because he was my first love and he was only with me because I brought him peace instability. He literally cheated on me with the girl that he did nothing but argue with and when I left him he pursued her just to find out she didn't actually want him. She just like the attention and the money. He was giving her the money that he convinced me he was giving to his mom and I told him that didn't make logical sense like she has five boys. You are the youngest. Why is she asking you for money and she is married. She has a husband like why would she ask her youngest for money that we need. It didn't make any sense but he told me I was being selfish and that was his mom and I'm being a bad girlfriend so I kept my mouth shut. Turns out the entire time I was right it was BS. He was giving the money to his ex and cheating on me made me feel like a fool because my gut told me something was wrong but he told me I was being insecure. And when I left him and I told him what could have stopped him from cheating he told me nothing. He told me I did everything a man could possibly want but there was nothing more I could have done and I didn't know how to take that because if I gave you my everything and it still wasn't enough then what the hell. But I treat that like a lesson now. Now I know a cheater is going to be a cheater no matter what you do. So you just have to make sure you pick the right person for sure. It sucks though because it makes me feel like I've become jaded because I am now a lot less patient compared to how I used to be. There's a lot of things I just refused to tolerate early in a relationship and I'm so easily kicking men to the side. As soon as anything happens. And I know that's not okay. I never feel bad for people like this. They need to learn their lessons the hard way. You knowingly engaged in a relationship that is an affair? Your fault when the immoral person acts immorally TO YOU. Cheaters like to think they’re “special” and an exception to the rule, when cheating is a personality defect, not an act of love. (Clarification “you” is being used towards people that cheat, not in regards to the person who made this comment)

It’s so often a 90/10 issue with people that cheat. They have 90% of everything they could want with their spouse, but are so bothered by that last 10%. Instead of fixing it and making it 100%, they run to someone new that will give them that 10%. When they do eventually break it off with their spouse or their spouse breaks it off, they realize that they are left with only 10% or the new person doesn’t want to give them 100%.

He told his wife to "keep an eye on him" implying he may potentially harm himself. Really? That is beyond selfish, disgusting, and deplorable. He chose to hold her emotionally hostage and forcefully pull her into his situation because he couldn't handle dealing with the mess he created on his own. What a sad, sorry excuse of a Man.

@@Dansyoung True, have you been in this situation before? with kids? it’s a million times harder than I ever thought it would be. Then you see statistics about how much better kids do in 2 parent households and how important fathers in the home are for sons and daughters and it’s just to the point where you feel selfish leaving. The thought of it may be better for me but not for my kids and I’m their mother so I need to do what’s best for them, not me. Idk, I’m sure it sounds crazy but there’s so much to think about before actually divorcing. Maybe that’s the problem, I should’ve just done it without thinking it through.
@Dansyoung10 ай бұрын
@@heyhey11793 Yes! This is my life exactly. I have two children and my ex decided she wanted to be with someone at her workplace. I agree 1000% that a two parent household is better for kids - until there is conflict in the house. It wouldn’t be right to raise your children where you are not appreciated and working as a team. I have personally used this experience to thrive, I’ve taken my kids to enjoy experiences that would not have been allowed with my ex - for example water parks (she hated germs), and movies in the theatres (again germs), and we have travelled together and had lots of great experiences. I know my ex is struggling now, and that doesn’t bring me joy or happiness, if anything I feel bad for her BUT I respect myself enough to know I don’t deserve to be treated like that. Personally I’m going to stay single and focus on my boys.

Exactly. The only reason he's even trying to get her back bc he's homeless and familiar ppl feel soothing after a break up. I worry that she will take him back based off her reaction to him reaching out. I have unfortunately been in a similar situation before I went through therapy. At the time, I was willing to do whatever it took to get my ex away from the other woman, even if that meant taking him back. The situation was triggering something from my childhood that at the time I was unaware of. He used this exact same guilt trip on me - crying, no place to go - knowing I had a big heart and would struggle to leave him out on the street. That man tortured me for years but I eventually had enough and I am actually grateful to have been through the experience today. It opened up all doors and my life is significantly better now because of the healing work on myself I had to do in the aftermath. I hope she doesn't have to learn the way I did though
