Me too. I think she should have got $1,000, and the rest of it should have been punitive damages. She didn't get a criminal record for this, she needs to get some real consequences (although I'm not sure the losers actually pay in this show / binding arbitration).

That's why she didn't get squat for her clothes, because she still has them. What she got was better than nothing and no way in hell would any judge give her punitive damages for two brats that couldn't get along. The judge just taught her a lesson vs a large settlement and it was fair in the eyes of the law.

Maybe it’s a girl thing or their age, but I had roommates in my early 20s and one that I wasn’t talking to, would literally avoid whenever I heard them in the home, but I absolutely communicated very clearly through text to avoid any confusion on moving out day haha and because of the communication, things went very smoothly despite us not talking or getting along.

I have a friend with a daughter the same age as the litigants. She was moving out of her parents house and into an apartment with 3 other girls, all her closest friends. I told her, "Don't expect to be friends in 6 months" and sure enough- they all hate each other now and broke their lease to move out. It's a shame, but it happens way too often, especially with young women.

What I got from the Exit Interviews is that the the Defendant used to take advantage of the Plaintiff but when the Plaintiff came back from Italy she was more wiser and started standing up for herself and the Defendant didn’t like that .. yeah I’m glad the Plaintiff got away from her .

Self-awareness is a rare treasure. And there's a massive difference between what you say and what you do. When asked how the plaintiff was so crazy to her, the defendant could only come up with the way she talked to her, is this going to be the day and she couldn't see the difference between that and physically damaging her property. That defendant is going to have a criminal record by the time she is 40, because if I would have been the plaintiff, she would already have one. I also think the plaintiff should have asked for punitive damages and she should have gotten it. That defendant hasn't gotten any real punishment for her actions, and without real consequences the behaviour doesn't change.
