I did the MsgNotFound glitch after beating the story, and using that with different fusions for things like breaking rocks or starting fires is super nifty (I've got like 5 copies with different items fused... I have sharp damage, blunt damage, fire, electric & ice... super useful for post-game shenanigans)

In ways this is better than MSG master sword, getting the buff and no weapon slot taken by the MSG is nice to have. Hopefully this paves the way to a better unbreakable master sword as well. There are other phantom ganon spawns that font require much of the game to be completed so I’m wondering if there is a way to do something similar so you can “steal” this version of the master sword. Also if there is a way to do this with the actual Ganondorf fight that could work if there is a way to escape that area during it. Thanks to all who discovered this!

Obviously MSG is better overall, you can get it like 20 minutes into starting a save that takes little effort. theres still things you can do, people still play post game for building as there is a whole community for it. Finishing shrines, battling bosses in Depths, completing the game, collecting resources as you continue post game all can help with having an unbreakable weapon. Also it’s just cool to have in general, MSG doesn’t even receive that awakened buff or blue particle effect like this does

@@splish_2 the MsgNotFound has the awakened effect (glows blue, both sheathed and unsheathed).... my biggest issue with it is the glow & humming when it's sheathed.

It has a lite version of it, the blue aura only lightly coats the sword for this version (you can still see the silver blade, whereas in the full awakened form the entire blade turns bright blue). It also doesn't get the *CLANG* sound effect the full awakened version gets like in BotW and against Ganondorf in TotK.

Ok but imagine a Phantom Ganon boss that constantly knows where you are and chases you across the Hyrule Map (with the sky islands being the one exception, as they were made to be out of Ganondorfs reach). It's like a Mr X or Nemisis type enemy and can't be killed until you get the Master Sword, which finally slays it.

Imagine if you realize you can’t hit phantom ganon or are doing next to no damage so the game tells you to find the master sword, and until you find it phantom ganon won’t stop following you. You pull out a wing and he’ll spawn on top of it, you paraglide away and a purple blob flies after you, you can’t fast travel and be chases you all the way to korok forest where the deku tree tells you that the master sword is in the sky. You get up there and at last phantom ganon is repelled by the light dragon magic, you pull the master sword and finally beat it.

If you add a lynel horn as the first fuse for it you can get a base attack of 460, sneakstriking any opponent would kill it instantly and making this the official canon master sword as it has been empowered for a very long time.

For anyone curious about the endgame and what you can and cannot do, I just confirmed this morning that you CAN still go into the Depths below Hyrule Castle and beat the game normally. The Phantom Ganon fight here is not the same one as Hyrule Castle. When you complete the game, load your autosave with the star and then make a new manual save to hold onto your completed progress. You'll still have to reload your save if you hard reboot the game but it won't affect your Master Sword

another guy found a way to put attack up 10on the master sword, basicaly you fuse entangle a battery on to mineru and walk near a wall until you get phase culling then desync the master sword with another weapon , open a chest with a weapon inside, drop the desynced weapon then take up a weapon with the buff.

This is a very interesting glitch, especially being able to escape an area that the game prevents you from leaving. I also saw a similar glitch about escaping the Catch Zelda sequence after beating the Demon Dragon and activating a minigame on the Bravery Island; and for some reasons Dying in that state will put back onto the Demon Dragon fight, but without the Save and Warp restrictions.

Both are fine, they don't disable the glitch since it depends on that specific Phantom Ganon fight from the story to still be alive. Also killing ganondorf proper just reverts you to a save before you fight him too so that wouldn't matter. Also I just killed the Phantom Ganon at the bottom of the Great Deku tree with the glitched Awakened Master Sword, and it stayed afterwards since again, it's tied to the phantom ganon at hyrule castle specifically.

since thematically they want you to use the master sword to fight ganon (if you have it), the phantom ganon fight makes the master sword unbreakable so you can use it for the whole fight. we're just breaking out of the fight while its active so the effect doesnt go away like it normally does after you beat him

As a programmer, this makes sense. A flag is set that you are in the flight with Phantom Ganon in the castle, and that is what is causing these side effects. But the program checks to see if you are in the fight to determine if your master sword loses power or not, etc.

Even though I know I won't try this it was still an entertaining watch. Personally by the time you get to this point in the game to make use of this, You'll be begging for all your weapons to break because you're just so stacked on high level fuse materials already. It's impossible to be down to your last weapon in this game compared to BOTW.

AMAZING tutorial, thank you. This guide was pretty straightforward, and also taught me fuse entanglement. One small thing though... when I hit enemies, the master sword strikes glow orange, not blue. I get the critical hit sound, and the hit shockwave, it just glows orange instead of that sweet flashing blue. It's more of an aesthetic thing for me. I made sure that it is on its last hit before performing the glitch. I am on ver 1.0.0. Any possible fixes??

I got the Msgnotfound in 1.2.1 by replacing a line in the save file in a hex editor on a whim and restoring it back to my OFW. Found the location and values by starting a new game on v1 on my modded side, getting the NoMsg using the old exploit, and then using a save editor to see the values and names of the weapons and slots. Then just searched for my slot two weapon in my OFW save and replacing it with the line from my v1. Even kept the fused item I had.

Side affects I’ve gotten from this glitch: I got auto build after doing the glitch and every time I attach 2 things together I get the tutorial message as if it’s my first time. Also 2nd Octorocks keep spawning near where octorocks are normally. Since I’m in on 1.1.2 this is great for weapon/sheild/bow dup glitches but if I mess up and go back a save the glitched octorock will disappear.

I did this glitch without issue and got my unbreakable sword, and it was awesome. But, getting the low energy master sword warning continuously was a big issue for me. So, what I did was, I loaded a file before I did this and fused a silver Lynel horn to a fully charged master sword, just for kicks and giggles! Then I setup gas and went through it all over again! Now, I have a master sword that still seems plenty powerful enough, and DOES NOT give me low power warnings! I have taken down every Lynel on the surface with only this sword, and it was more than sufficient. As you know, Lynels are easy anyway. I did notice that perhaps my sword has a little less damage than the way you explained, but this is the sword I will be keeping. What was the problem with doing this on a fully charged master sword?

Just finished the glitch today on a new profile I started, you will not be able to finish the Ring Ruins in Kakoriko and "Zelda" continues to be in the blood moon cutscenes. I wanted to do this glitch so I could explore and fight without worrying about weapons and fusing etc. and I wanted to do a fresh start where I focused immediately on the temples, no hover bike except for the depths and I haven't gotten autobuild yet.

1. Yes. Fusing will work the exact same as it always did with the master sword. You can freely fuse and destroy materials. 2. There is a way to dupe it (itll actually be part of the next video), however master sword duplicates get deleted when you load a save. Only the left most master sword will stay. 3. Im not entirely sure of the progress toward achieving it post game, but I havent personally seen or heard anything about it. I've personally spent countless hours trying to figure out my own way of getting him an msgnotfound (I did discover a couple weird glitches in doing so, but nothing super useful), so I'm super glad that someone came up with this for him. I'm sure he'll be even more excited when/if there is a way to do it with a post-game save, but for now he should have plenty of fun with this. He's been jealous of my entire library of msg's for every occasion since he accidentally updated from 1.11 or whatever. 😅

​@@SuishiYTHey, couple more things I was hoping you might know... I noticed that after doing this glitch, all my MNFs (i have too many, haha) started to glow as well. The damage numbers didn't change though, so I'm assuming that this glitch doesn't do anything to their damage output, just causes a glow effect? Also, do you happen to know what the damage per hit would be on a Master Sword glitched this way, (on its last hit) and with attack up +10? I guess what I'm asking is, does awakening the master sword double any damage modifiers as well (like would it's base dmg go from 40 to 80) or do modifiers just get added to the 60 (so 70 base damage with atk +10)? Sorry bout all the questions... Silly that there is no way to see enemy's HP numbers on this game like on the last one. THAT was actually a useful perk (beam attack up, I'm looking at you🙄).

Thought I couldn’t do this since I just beat the final boss, but did have only one auto save that didn’t have the star next to it before I even entered the castle. So going to do this glitch eventually.

The glitch bonded the Master Sword with Ganon and Phantom Ganon is pissed that you left without finishing the battle. He'll hunt you forever.😂😂

so long as there isnt an issue initiating the last fight, completing it *shouldnt* have any effect since it reloads a save afterward anyway, but i cant personally confirm any of this as I havent tried it

If you dont want the message to pop up constantly, you can do the trick with sidon and mineru again to break it, and itll recharge to normal durability, getting rid of the message. just be aware that youll lose the x2 crit damage bonus if you reset the durability

I was so excited, I’ve been waiting since I got this game to get an unbreakable Master Sword. Said excitement lasted about a minute, until you said you can’t have the Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest completed to do this. Guess I’ll keep waiting… lmao

I think you could probably do this in some of the dungeons too right? like do the same thing in the water temple for example, since you can enter the boss arena beforehand? I forget how the quest works though tbh.

@@SuishiYT i just found out your other Guides. That does describe it what happens but not in a technical manner. Back then there was a technical explanation for the Super Mario SNES input coding to exit the game within the first 10 mins. It was very detailed with all the memory swaping and overflow things. As a dev, a must seen! But I wonder if there is such a thing that explains why the Game does this glitch and this bug exactly?

- Yes. You can safely finish the game after doing this. The save you get put back to will still have the unbreakable effect. - Yes. The only part of the castle you'll be locked out of is the throne room, so if you need to do anything in there, do it first.
