He was given exactly what he deserved. It was established that Jessica recognized potential, since she picked up Harvey from the mailroom, paid for his very expensive education, and he became her right hand man who helped her rise to the top and made her firm a fortune. She knew Louis was absolutely not to be trusted or given any significant authority, since the one semblance of authority he had over the associates, he used it to abuse and torment them. As soon as he was given authority over the firm, he became a fascist tyrannical dictator. Having Jessica physically lower herself (and lowering the camera angle) in a moment of admittance 8:30 to then reverse the action and have her rise back up when she says "you wanted to see me squirm...I'm not gonna give you the satisfaction...." 9:10 Excellent direction

Actually louis showed mercy because hiring associate without a bar licence is crime in any country. Even hiring doctor without licence. If your are caught you are in a big trouble.

for louis to say that @00:18 shows how great this character is. and the aggression in the end tells you how great of actor Rick Hoffman is.

The thing that always kind of got to me about this whole thing, despite this being a powerful and awesome set of scenes, is that Louis at best only knows Mike didn't go to Harvard. He has no reason to believe at this point that he didn't go to another law school and is actually a legit lawyer. I didn't really quite get why he jumped to that conclusion and why everyone was willing to grant him that.
@risteastefan3004 жыл бұрын
Mike ross has a fake Harvard diploma. He is in their database. If you find out out he didn't go to harvard, despite all of this, you don't think "hey, maybe he went to another school but faked his harvard degree", you think he is not a lawyer at all and that's it. At least this is my point of view and what i would probably think given this situation.
@oliviamaguire68944 жыл бұрын
also they say pearson hardman only hire from harvard so i don’t think he would look at the other law schools he could’ve gone to.
@thisismaria274 жыл бұрын
well it's a fair conclusion from Louis when he a) knows that everyone in this firm covered it up (if he just went to a different law school why go to these lengths?) and b) when he told Donna about Mike not being a lawyer she prevented him from calling Sheila and by that confirmed his suspicions
@4cryingoutloud9764 жыл бұрын
They don't have anything to back that up. No transcripts, no entry in another college database. And even if they managed to cool down louis for enough days and somehow hacked another university and made up fake transcripts, louis can call sheila and verify this because she can access the remote database of like all these universities. And imagine if louis found out that they lied to him twice. It was best to come clean at this point.

when the show starts we def obviously see harvey & mike as the go to guy sand fav chars but they become so predictable and it's just more of the same over and over. Louis shows the most change and is the most dynamic char of the series imo.

The fact that you believe so fiercely about the character, goes to show just how great an actor Rick Hoffman is.
@rainbowsnail41713 жыл бұрын
The sad thing is that you are right. Louis is an opportunistic backstabber. But the sad thing is that it all stems from his deep-rooted insecurity issues and inferiority complex. Even when people do give him the trust and respect he so desperately wants, he throws it away by stabbing them in the back, because in his mind it's "I have to betray them, before they betray me". He is the sort of person who is so insecure, that he thinks everyone will stab him in the back if it benefits them, so he does it first, to save himself of that. This is one heck of an amazingly written character. He is so hatable, yet so relatable to many. What Louis needs is a true friend, but he can't really get those, because any time he comes close, his paranoia will ruin it all.

Just dawned on me... It makes little sense Mike doesnt know about the Order of Coif; After how worried he got when he tought Louis knew because he didn't know about a pizza place, you'd imagine he'd do some research of Harvard, its costumes and other stuff, so he doesn't get caught short handed again

I hate comparison between Jessica and Donna. Breaking down doesn't make someone weak. Jessica and Donna are two distinct and strong women, who have different strengths. Jessica symbolizes leadership and ambition while Donna with Empathy, compassion and warmth. While Jessica is gifted with authority and foresight, Donna is gifted with perceptiveness and selflessness. Infact pitying them against eachother is insult to them. This is a horribly twisted notion that crying is a sign of weakness. Louis here is friend of Donna, so is Mike. For Jessica both are employees. Jessica here is thinking about firm, while Donna is thinking about her friends who are going through hurt or will be hurt.
