Thank you for this! Always thought the videos were more of a promotion for the next. But they are not. Watched this first time on the train and the emotions came flooding back such an overwhelming awesome happy day. Thank you so much. Extremely beautiful, super attitude. What a race ((:

What an incredible event. Part of me thinks it's smarter to wait until 2020, but another part of me is having a hard time not applying for 2019.

Can anybody explain pls, why the triathlon bike is not a good choice for such an event?

One word......Mountains!!!!!

@@jorj3260 You can change the chainring and the cassette. It is not about the bike... So why not a TT bike?
@jorj32603 жыл бұрын
@@AS-ReHMn Because there is very little flat roads. A TT bike is generally heavier and the main advantage of a TT bike is on fast, flat roads in which you can adopt the time trial position and become more aero. TT bikes generally are harder to handle on fast descents, of which there are many on this race. You are either climbing or descending on this race so little opportunity to get into the TT position on the TT bars. A light road bike that handles well is a much better option. Look at the Tour De France. In mountain time trials with a flat start to the route with a mountain to finish, many riders will start on a TT bike when the road is flat, but actually switch to a road bike for the final climb and they generally make more time back than the time they have lost by stopping to change bikes. For pure mountain time trials, they will start on a normal road bike. The climbs on this race will be around 1 hour + of climbing. The handlebars on a TT bike are not conducive to a steady climbing rhythm. Maybe the best option would be a road bike with clip on TT bars, but a full TT bike would be a bad option for this event.
