I feel the same way as you do about the incredible chemistry in this couple, but also about how their getting together is so thwarted repeatedly. Thanks for doing this very insightful overview of their entire relationship. Even though I have been viewing the show segment by segment (and what patience it demands--Geeeeeeeze!) this was still a delightful pulling together of all the relevant pieces of their story. You seem to be good at looking at and analyzing the full picture. Thank you for your work on this.

I had been familiar with Heather and her previous work on Lip Service and her music, but Bal was a revelation. She is an exceptional actress and Eastenders is lucky to have her.

@@100percentshipper Me too. She has given Suki so many layers. This is always impressive, but even more so on a soap when everything has to be done in such a fast pace. Nuance is usually one of the elements that suffers. She certainly hasn't let that happen with her work.

Thank you for this video and I'm so glad you're on the Eve and Suki bandwagon now! I love them so much, and the chemistry is seriously through the roof! I started watching EastEnders because of them, and have come to really enjoy some of the other characters and storylines too, though tbh there have also been a few that I kind of skipped through. And I was over the whole The Six storyline before it even started lol. I know it's a soap and we need drama but jeepers! The one thing about the Sukeve storyline that bugs me is that I actually think it's a bit out of character for Suki to have kept everything from Eve for this long because Eve is the one person she doesn't keep things from. (And I want Eve to be able to help her deal with it all rather than being in the dark about it. Like what was that all about when Suki cancelled on Valentine's Day but didn't tell Eve why...I mean, come on!!) I don't even mind how many off and on times they had, I just want them to have no secrets now! I loved the scene in The Vic when Suki basically comes out to the whole square. I hope at some point they show her repairing things with Ash, even though at the moment she's not part of the show. And yes on domestic fluff!! Guess for now I'll just have to write it myself...

Yeah, the whole Six storyline just... not a huge fan. At least for now it seems to have been put on the back burner, and agreed, I don't like that Suki has kept this from Eve. Eve's proven she's pretty ride or die between being willing to do dodgy lawyer things for Suki's businesses, knowing Suki probably killed that dude-whats-his-name and on and on. I just hope that they give our ladies a solid storyline that isn't putting their relationship in jeopardy and gives us some screen time with them both!

@@kimk0409 yes, I was referring to the Ranveer s/l. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out what the show has in store for them!

So it actually came out that Suki did not kill Ranveer. She clocked him over the head (with an actual clock I think?) and she thought he was dead, not that she'd meant to kill him. Ravi was going to get rid of the body but then when he went to do it he realized Ranveer wasn't actually dead, so he killed him, but still let Suki think she had. Kheerat didn't want Suki to go to prison so confessed and took the fall. Much later on (after Suki told Eve what Ranveer had tried to do and that she'd killed him) Denise somehow found surveillance footage showing that it was really Ravi, and she told Suki. At this point, Eve also knows it was Ravi, and Ravi knows that Denise and Suki know, but the show hasn't done anything about it yet. Meanwhile, we've still got Kheerat in prison...welcome to soaps lol!

I've been a long term Heather Peace fan, but having seen Bal and Heather together - this was a pairing that was meant to be.

When I first came across even Suki last year I think I was fully prepared to love suki. She was so abrasive so cold. But as you say at some point we find out that she's not that cold that she's brittle and her armor is failing. The addition of the husband just made me so angry he is such a horrible horrible guy. So I've missed all of that interaction for whatever reason. My algorithm is obviously not working as towards this. But I really enjoyed your recap of their relationship and it's progression so thank you very much. I shall try and dig them out of my sooner rather than later. Thank you again.

Agreed, Nish was pretty aggravating and Suki is not always likeable - but if you do fancy giving it another go, do!

What I don't like about the pairing is everything is about Suki, yes she has her journey but Eve is always secondary the forgotten character to the writers energy.

I have to disagree a bit Eve being a 'forgotten character' ... my opinion is that Eve struggles with her sense of worth and so she sometimes makes herself invisible thus enabling others to be all about themselves. I think Eve is actually one of the best characters on the show ... everyone knows her and pretty much likes her ... she has such an optimistic, upbeat personality even with her own deep wounds ... she often brings humor to any situation. She has swagger (which I love) and she protects and supports those she loves fiercely even when it might put her in danger. I think there are multiple times while understanding and wanting to support Suki in her coming out journey where Eve shows the cost even if it is just to Stacey. The whole legal consultant to Nish is one place where we see Eve's angst, her protection of Suki and Eve's own struggle around who she is in the midst of her relationship with Suki. Yes, Suki takes up a lot of space ... most type A people do ... and certainly Eve sets aside some of her needs to support Suki, but Eve also has this really beautiful relationship with Stacey and all of the Slaters as family. Of course, there is the whole twin sister drama as well. I actually think that both Eve and Suki have these complex stories along with all these varied relationships around the square sometimes with people you wouldn't expect.

I first ran across the storyline last year I think. I was initially attracted because of Heather peace. She was absolutely incredible and lip service. So I was interested to see what this story was going to be. And as you say, the Slow Burn kind of got to me. I'm really not a soap person so I'm not really a soap person so I just kind of fell away and it went on top of things. But if we emerged in the last couple of weeks and I'm now followed the entire storyline through different threads and channels and and absolutely hooked this is an amazing story and amazing couple and the actresses are absolutely Suki's transformation and Eve's steadiness make for a wonderful pairing. I would like to see their story continue as a couple who contribute to the life of the town so I'm very glad that you've seen fit to include them in your repertoire. Thank you very much you've made a lot of things clear. I'm intrigued by the 6 I have no idea what that's all about I might have to look into it

Thanks for your comment! Yes such a good pairing, I've been so impressed with calibre of their storyline, it's not always this good on soaps but I've come to appreciate this genre through the years for the sapphic storylines they can portray in all their nuances.

@@100percentshipper something I find really interesting is the support she has received from what I would have thought was a traditionally conservative community, South Asian organizations have awarded her performance as a strong and successful South Asian woman and for her representation in the lgbtq plus community it's gratifying to see that kind of acceptance

Aw, thanks, I'm happy to have you as a sub! I don't know that it's homophobia... I see lots of wlw channels with lots of subs. I'm sure if I consistently covered the latest releases and was more formulaic with my vids I'd have more, but I also want to enjoy the process of making the content and not feel the pressure to be devouring everything that comes out straight away just to make a video about it!

Like you I find it really interesting how each of these two very strong intelligent women gradually wear away their veneer Eaves of cocky Good Humor good friend hail fellow helmet LOL and Suki's ice cream iron fisted just a little bit on the just forwarding on on criminal activity. But being such a strong and person. And as the relationship develops their armor cracks open and they become more and more vulnerable as to where they're practically unrecognizable at some points. Put it at the same time, they're termination to be together and give Sam such a powerful direction to follow it's hard to resist. Not to mention you're right they are really really hot
