People always miss the part where hardwork is really never enough on it own. Luck is a big factor. Talent is luck of the genetic draw. And talent alone is also not enough to be on top. Even talented people need to work, maybe not as hard but they still need hard work. Miwa probably worked hard but her talent is not enough. Yuji had a hard life but he was blessed with an amazing body. Yuta has luck at the start but worked hard. And Sukuna must have almost same level of luck/talent as Gojo. Why? Because how in the world can he just learn something from seeing it just once when people takes a lifetime and many even just fail? He learned how to split the soul just based on seeing it done, he learned to use RCT on his burnt out CT just from seeing Gojo did it and developing his world cutting slash just from watching Mahoraga. Nobody can work hard to make them be a very fast learner, someone is already a fast learner, and Sukuna is probably the fastest learner in the verse. Being able to almost perfectly sense CE and CT? That is talent. I'd say that is even better than Gojo's blessing. Kusakabe had more talent than Miwa but he has pennies compared to what Gojo and Sukuna inherited in the billions.
@paalyasharahla7574Ай бұрын
@rbr1170 yuji barely worked hard. Most of yujis power came from the soul swapping training and eating blood paintings. As a matter of fact, yuji wouldn't even know how to do domain expansion if he didn't do soul swapping training, which buffed up everyone. As yuta said, " he cheated when it came to power." Where do people say yuji worked hard about? He has two CTs, one that choso taught him and one that sukuna left him with after being sukunas vessel for so long. Yuji is one of the most gifted mcs ever. Most of yujis' power also came from his consecutive black flashes. With how gifted yuji was I'm surprised he wasn't stronger than gojo

Shrine by itself is a very basic and not very impressive CT, but Sukuna takes the technique's potential to the extreme not only with the inhuman amount of Cursed Energy and natural talent he has but also with all the Binding Vows he stacks on the technique to avoid its weakness. - Slashes can't get through something? Make the slashes ignore resistance in exchange for having to touch the target - Furnace is too slow and not powerful enough? Apply a condition where you can only use it within your Domain Expansion or in a 1v1 - Something is literally impossible to cut? Change the target of the technique to THE WORLD ITSELF and cut everything in it. It's no wonder Sukuna is the Binding Vow Merchant

How is an invisible and something that adjust to target's durability (distinguishes between living and non-living) slicing technique a very basic technique? And binding vow is not a guaranteed thing, see Miwa for example. Although yes, blessed with his amount of CE, physique and inteligence, most CT will be broken in his hands. Regardless, his CT is also broken much like Gojo's. It is up there with blood manipulation, curse speech and others. They are in the hands of relatively weak characters but they can still match up to most (except the top 5 in the verse). Blood manipulation can be said as too basic because it is just manipulating blood, not even all fluids and just the blood of the user. Curse speech is basic because it is just using words. Just because something seems simple does not make it basic or weak. Sukuna's CT is as broken as these inherited simple CTs.

@@angrymeowngiSlashes were shown to depend heavily on CE output, because when he had low CE output but was still stronger than yuji dismantle caused only shallow cuts. This is why if someone with a normal amount of CE has his technique it is pretty unimpressive, having low damage at long range and decent damage at very close range they get outclassed by a lot of mid cursed techniques. For example Nanimi's 7:3 would be better since it can do a lot of damage in close range(He cut mahito's arm halfway with it even though mahito was a special grade and was reinforcing with CE), but still outranges shrines dismantle since he uses a tool and doesn't need direct contact. Or for example Jogo's disaster flame, which has a lot more versatility in terms of long range attacks.

Just look at how he used the 10 Shadows technique and compare it to Megumi. He merged Nue with Great Serpent to create a giant winged beast that could cover an entire neighborhood with lightning. He turned Divine Dog into an entire pack of hell hounds be trading their autonomy. He used the shadows techniques without summoning their physical form like using Max Elephant's water canon as if it were piercing blood, or taking on Mahoraga's burden of adaption while keeping him hidden in the shadows so Maho couldn't get one shot by Yorozu or Gojo. And he was able to tame Mahoraga and use him as a blueprint to advance his own curse technique, something nobody else in the entire Zenin clan could do. No doubt, Sukuna was gifted natural born talent like his 4 armed body and cursed energy reserves. But he also very clearly is a sorcery genius and a lab demon at fighting.

Appreciate you answering my question. As for my own thoughts, I consider Shrine to be a pretty mediocre CT. From what we've seen and how it works, it seems pretty overpowered on the outside. But just by having his output fall, the CT becomes pretty useless. You'd need Sukuna/Gojo levels of strength to even make it work. Limitless comes with you being untouchable, warping space, teleporting, and creating mini black holes, all without even learning RCT. Shrine mostly just seems to be a CT fit to kill. Can you imagine if Sukuna had a CT like Construction? He'd build a particle accelerator around you in seconds and fry your brain just for fun. I don't disagree that him being born with his body automatically makes him strong even without anything, but it appears that being didn't in one regard didn't automatically make him strong in another. I guess it just depends on how you see it: What's better? A CT or the sorcerer?
@thecod2345Ай бұрын
Honestly the strongest part of shrine I’d say is that dismantles are invisible to almost every sorcerer. The advantage that gives you is absurd and makes it so that long and short range tactics are risky. Especially if you have a solid CE pool or even above average then you can lob off or severely damage limbs. But outside that shrine isn’t even that good offensively unless you’re a demon in close quarters combat.
@RakutenZeroАй бұрын
I wouldn't call it mediocre though, it's definitely a great CT to have, but it is mediocre compared to Limitless, Construction, Star Rage, 10S, Copy, Idle Transfiguration etc. which basically are CTs which all have nigh infinite potential.
@rockargen9591Ай бұрын
I mean, literally everything in the series is useless if you drop the output, infinity being the an exception. small output? Red, Blue, 10S, Star rage, Shrine, etc. all become useless. The important part is that Shrine is equiped with a long-short range killing move, with a stronger version that increases its power based on the enemy's durability, an extremely powerful fire attack that has the one weakness of being slow, and a domain expansion thats just "f*ck everything in every direction" and all of that is accompanied by it having a good cursed energy efficiency (cuz a big part of the efficiency comes from the technique and not the sorcerer). Shrine is objectively a strong CT.
@robertrizov42472 ай бұрын
The reason why Yuji is so good at timing black flash is because his only ability he could work on fully was his focus. Since the beginning he hasn’t had a ct or anything else so that’s what he trained first imo

Sukuna is both talented and hardworking but was born with an average curse technique. It's implied in the story that Cleave is the basic ability of Shrine based on how Yuta and Yuji used it. Everything else is innovation from Sukuna. Dismantle = binding vow that sacrifices curse energy adjustment for range Fuga = binding vows that increases speed and range Malevolent Shrine = MS has a weakness that targets everything within the domain except the user. It doesn't cancel the opponent's domain sure hit on Sukuna which makes him vulnerable. Sukuna used open barrier domain to smash his opponent's domain barrier first. Any average Joe with Shrine would just be a powerful melee combatant at best. They'd be at a disadvantage in range encounters and would lose nearly all domain clashes.
@Susanoo1016Ай бұрын
Cleave itself just seems like a closed range slash, Sukuna probably made a binding vow to make it one shot.
@Mania476Ай бұрын
Yeah that can very well be the case. Not to mention the reality slash too. It's scary to think about what would've happened if Sukuna had more time with the 10 shadows. Bro didn't read the manga why is the jjk community so poor at reading
@Mania476Ай бұрын
Chapter 230 page 4, Malevolent Shrine doesn't apply the sure hit to Sukuna otherwise he'd be cutting himself in his own domain. Because he doesn't have a sure-hit applied to himself, the opponent's sure hit doesn't get canceled. The reason why Sukuna didn't get lobotomized was because he directed the damage to Megumi's soul. The whole Megumi takeover situation was to quote "Take that card(Infinite Void) out of the deck" and find a way past Infinity without domain amplification.

All of it. He is obviously a force of nature. But we see with all of his binding vows and his management of cursed energy that he knows all there is about being a sorcerer. And when he was faced with a sorcerer with more raw power, he created conditions where he could use someone else's technique to win. At the same time, it took multiple lost limbs and black flashes to drop him to Yuta's level as far as cursed energy. He is a monster. Also, in literature, the technique Gege uses is called "repetition", as written about by Kierkegaard, Gertrude Stein, and Gille Deleuze.

I feel like people are downplaying Yuji’s statement of confidence because of the sudden help from Nobara and Megumi, but nothing says he wouldn’t have won anyway. The only person who was shit taking Yuji at that point was Sukuna who is a proven hater of Yuji. Him saying Yuji has gone beyond his limit could be projecting his own thoughts/opinions about Yuji without facing reality, that Yuji was still ready to keep throwing down. In fact that would line up with everything we’ve seen so far, Sukuna specifically didn’t bother finishing off Yuji even though Yuji was probably his biggest counter in the fight. When it comes to Yuji, Sukuna is arrogant and pompous to the point of illogical and short sighted. Oh and lastly, Yuji had seemingly come to terms with no longer holding out for Megumi. So those soul cleaved that were aimed in between their souls could very easily now be directed straight at Sukuna’s soul which we’ve seen inflicts massive damage when Sukuna does that to Mahito.

I honestly think that with everything we know and what gege has said, the answer to the question geto posed to gojo is that both are true. Gojo was raised as being/going to be strong/the strongest so that had heavy influence on gojo at a young age (contributing to strength influencing who gojo was). We also see that after the toji incident, gojo trains a whole year to master his CT. His attitude also changes which also alludes to gojo not entirely relying on his inherent strength. I also want to clarify that I think the questions were more asking which defines the other, does gojos personality/character define being the strongest or vice versa. So I ultimately think that gege was trying to show that there isn't a true answer to the question because both are true. Also, yuta/gojo imo doesn't answer the question because yuta had limited training in gojos body (they do say yuta is a prodigy but still), while gojo had his whole life/his body and CT was all gojo knew (also took like a year to auto infinity for gojo). idk I might be wrong about it but thanks for the vids :)

Since Domain Amplification neutralizes CTs, even techniques as overpowered as Limitless, I wonder if Gojo could have neutralized the World Cutting Slash in his heightened post-Black Flash state using Domain Amplification instead of relying on Infinity 🤔
@Rinnegan_user756Ай бұрын
11:10 The reason was that Gojo didn't give enough time for mahoraga to perform it. Unlike Sukuna, mahoraga still needs to swing it's sword to perform it. Since Gojo kept got in the way, maho didn't have an opening to use it. And to make something clear, the world cutting slash can cut through blue. All of Gojo's techniques interferes with space-time upto a precision of atomic level. Tearing apart space itself means the slash has a precision of sub atomic level. So yes, the world cutting slash can cut through blue, red and purple. This is precisely why Sukuna tried to learn it through mahoraga because he didn't have something like six eyes to perceive if the slash is tearing apart space or not. Also the reason why he saw Gojo as the perfect opportunity to use mahoraga against, because if the adaptation can get through infinity, it means it can slash anything. Sukuna would no longer need to adjust his CT output according to his opponent. He got an instant win condition with WCS.

Hey Manganimist, thanks for the DM response! 🤝 I wanted your take on this: I feel that Yuji should have awakened Shrine that functions the same way as Sukuna’s does with the ranged dismantles and the Cleave that requires contact to function. That would have made Yuji’s arsenal more well rounded and versatile. Also solidifying him as a Special-Grade and Gojo contender. Cleave would make him even deadlier as a close range combatant while dismantle gives him ranged option. I’ve even worked out the kinks storywise in a way where that wouldn’t facilitate an early defeat of Sukuna and the story would basically progress as it already has. Now Yuji who’s gone through his spiritual and philosophical journey. Becoming akin to the Bodhisattva of Mercy (Kannon), should through his own skill and desire of not wanting to harm anyone physically. Not wanting to slice anyone or anything up, but instead wishing to save Megumi. Could through his unique understanding and perception of the soul (soul punches, Mahito’s natural predator etc.). Switch the target of his dismantles and Cleaves to not target the physical vessel and body of an enemy(s). Instead targeting the Soul and thereafter expand upon that with a binding vow that specifically targets the barrier between two souls (Sukuna and Megumi). Same way that Sukuna could evolve shrine to target “existence” (WCS) and bypass infinity. Yuji would parallel the King of Curses and make a parody of his CT where it aims to help and free the vessels of incarnated Sorcerers. Instead of wanting to destroy things. Yuji who’s been stated to show equal potential to Sukuna should show that uncanny perception for sorcery techniques, and could then have his Shrine differentiate further by having the Furnace: Open use blue fire. Blue fire could symbolize the modern interpretation of cooking where we use hotter fire on stoves. Also Yuji could once again flip Shrine on it’s head by having his DE function exactly as MS but introducing a function. Where upon entering Yuji’s Domain Expansion, a target will have their Innate Domain visited by Yuji who offers them an enlightened perspective and the option of Mercy. If the target(s) refuse this offer (like Sukuna going South), then the second stage kicks in where Yuji’s DE with a different aesthetic, functions similar to MS. Having rapidly fired Dismantles/Cleaves as the Sure-hit. Able to switch between the Sure-hit targeting the physical vessel or Soul, applying his Blue Furnace: Open into the domain etc. What I hope that mercy function of his domain does, is give Yuji’s DE the non-lethal domain buffs since technically it’s not intended to be lethal unless the target refuses his mercy and decides to continue fighting. Furthermore, If Yuji truly does continue living with Sukuna inside himself. I personally hope to see a Naruto Kurama situation (Yuji’s earned it), where Yuji inherits Sukuna’s Jujutsu skills and knowledge (WCS with fewer prerequisites for example). With them forming a unique symbiotic relationship where Yuji can transform into his own separate or Sukuna’s “Heian” Four armed, Two mouthed, tattooed, four eyes, half mask, form. Gaining access to Sukuna’s insane CE reserves and CE efficiency. In this hypothetical form, Yuji would basically be Heian Era Sukuna, but retain his supernatural physicality perks, could still use his Blood Conversion to CE ability, use his second Blood Manipulation CT. Retain his “Black Flash mastery” etc. While I know this doesn’t make sense, I really like the Jekyll and Hyde homage of this and think that Sukuna’s Heian Era Form is such a cool design. Would be a tragedy if it went to waste. Bonus question: Do you think we will see Yuji’s progression with Blood Manipulation in these last three chapters? Flowing Red Scale: Stack, Piercing Blood, Supernova, Crimson Binding, Blood Armor, Maximum: Wing King etc. Once again sorry for the yap fest, thanks for your DM response, love from Sweden 🇸🇪 and love your content, peace!✌🏻

When it comes to cursed techniques, do you think talent is relevant when it comes to sorcerers, or do you think the tool's power is the primary factor. And for a quick question 2 (sorry) what are your opinions on the Shinjuku squad versus Gojo. They'd have the same prep time and as a bonus, current Megumi and Nobara.

I think a better question to ask is: Is Sukuna's cursed technique the way it is because of his understanding of Jujutsu? Hear me out on this. Sukuna's shrine is different from Yuji's Shrine. This is partly explained by the idea that they live in different era's but it could also be because Sukuna has expended the possibilities with his cursed technique with bindings vows and the like. An example of this is when he learned the world cutting slash from Mahoraga. He could replicate that by imposing some restrictions on its usage and an increased CE requirement, but seemingly with enough knowledge of CE he could have done that (and many other things with his technique) without it being the base cursed technique. Therefor I think it is very likely that shrine did something similar to Yuji's technique in the beginning. Maybe it only cut whatever he touched at first, maybe it only cut things at range and made a binding vow that in exchange for range he can cut through any object up close if he touches the person or object he wants to cut. Maybe the slashes weren't invissable at first or he could not weve the spider web version of it. So I would asume that his talent coused the technique to evolve into the technique we know today. To further prove this point you only need to look at Mahito and his progression from the start to see what experience, insight and talent can alter a cruse technique and evolve it.

I don’t think I can give hard work to a character that knew everything the second we met him and we’ve never seen a backstory for him, much less him having to train for his power. He was born unwanted, but he did not say he was born weak.

Shrine is a good technique but its super simple compared to limitless. In other anime's like jojo or MHA the villain has the most complex power but un jjk the villains power is kinda simple but deadly AF because sukuna is hella creative the wah he uses it specially in the anime. In mahoraga fight he used it in so many different ways. And it just cutting.

I will say, shrine made me interested in slashing. I never thoguht of that as an ability and the way sukuna used shrine made it cooler. Is shrine inherently a strong ct? Maybe. Its definitely useful with multiple applications but its no limitless. Still, it was cool to see a villian to have an ability like that. Usually their powers are op but sukuna's is rather simple.

I'm sure sukuna with the sugar technique would still be cracked. Keep in mind that sending slashes flying isn't inherent to the technique, sukuna figured out how to do that or that it could even be done (since his technique isn't inherited and he had no rule book). He also was able to master any non innate technique after seeing it once and has the raw stats to stomp on most sorcerers. Like En from dorohedoro, the technique isn't special but in the right hands it's still monsterous. Now if he gets his hands on powerful cursed tools, it won't even matter.

Shrine honestly seems like a technique that just scales to your CE/skill level. It's not going to make anyone with low CE and poor hand-to-hand skills good at fighting, and it's only ever going to be as good as you are skilled a sorcerer. I think the reason Sukuna likes using it is because it's just fun. He's a min-maxer who likes using a "pure skill" build to pubstomp people weaker than himself.

Canonically Shrine is considered a rare kind of technique because it has at least two attributes that being slashes and fire, so canonically it’s seen as a good technique separate from Sukuna (Sukuna just milks it for all it’s worth since he’s the king of curses)
@carl_aryeeАй бұрын

@brandonmartin8628Ай бұрын
I really think you have it backwards. I think the technique is only cleave (evidence is yuji never used a real dismantle), but expanded with a binding vow to (ranged, not soul. But there's something about how you can "see" it) dismantle and cleave. Then there's the fire that is powerful but unweildy. Which is why he put a permanent binding vow on it. In other words I think the flexibility of shrine comes from his self imposed limitations and skill.
@gianlucazennaro99072 ай бұрын
I see you points but i might disegree on the first one (sukuna talent / hardworker)… SPOILER - we saw what yuta did with cleave and it did barely anything on sukuna, agile for example thin ice breaker Send him flying across the domain. In comparison in the next use of cleave sukuna (in low output) blow away yuji stomach. - for his body i don’t think he was born like that i mean kanjaku somewhat implied that tengen resembled sukuna, at that time tengen said that his/hers body was more similar of curse… so having kenjaku pointing that out its interesting

Honestly, the sugar guy's technique could be pretty deadly. He could cause instant hyperglycemia, which would cause all kind of issues and possibly straight up kill you depending on how much glucose he can manifest. And, in theory, if he applied RCT to his technique - he could suck all the glucose out of your body which would send you into hypoglycemic shock and kill you.
@CustomSet101Ай бұрын
It could be deadly, but it's got limits. He can only transfer sugar that's in his body, he can't make any from nothing himself.

I think Sukuna was not heavenly restricted but Reverse heavenly restricted, the world of sorcery treats twins as one individual and he ate his twin. Shrine is stronger the most cursed energy output you have to cut down the opponent. And he has the highest CE out of everyone. And probably one of the highest output. Which is why he is so strong with shrine’s slashes.
