Agreed. It gave a sense of identity and more of a feel for using a specific character along their stats. It was kind of like how Sonic & Sega All Stars did there's even though MK came first. Come to think about it, it was like a Final Smash to advance.

My brother has this game and the two of us love to play it to this day! My favorite combo now is one of the toads and one of the babies. That way I have chain chomps for offense and golden shrooms for defense. XD
