Too 'modern' comments... Ahmed is an abuser and Anastasia is a slave... But this was in 17th century. Women were typically slaves even in Europe, with no equality to their husband, no rights in terms if their children. And usually with a lack of love. Yes, they were not kidnapped, but were married off by force insted. Ahmed and Ottoman palace were not the worst option. Sofie Sultan tried to explain this. Even it this girl returned home, she would get married one day and leave her family.
